Vector or RS Rage

If you read what they say about the vector on yamaha-motor.com.. Under NEWS...You would see they LOVE the vector!!

I could be my next sled... WITH A TURBO of coarse!!

What is her riding style? Does she like to carve the trails? Does she want reverse? What does she ride now? What does she like about this sled? What is she looking to improve upon? Does she like to kick your #*$&@ across the lake? You gotta give us some details, then we will give you an opinion.

I would think that the Rage might be a better choice because the 136 will probably ride better. Plus it has reverse.

Yamadave, the Vector has reverse as well. I would go with the Vector based on the plush ride comments. While the 136" rage has an extra few inches on the trail, you are still dealing with a proaction rear suspension. Granted the proaction does work better in the 136" form, it is still an old dated design. I would wait another couple of weeks to see the reviews from snowtech. If they concur on how good the new skids are, I would go with a Vector.

What is her riding style? (First year riding this year) Does she like to carve the trails? (She has no idea what carving is ) Does she want reverse? (Definitely) What does she ride now? (2 up Polaris XLT Touring)What does she like about this sled? (It's a Yamaha need I say more ) What is she looking to improve upon? (Let's just say it will be my backup sled :D ) Does she like to kick your butt across the lake? (Not a chance why do you think I won't get her an RX1  ) I have seen the reviews on the Vector that is the only reason I am asking sure sounds like a sweet ride. Plus it's a little cheaper :)

O.K. Your avatar appears to be a Warrior so I will assume that is what you are currently riding. If this new sled is going to be your back-up sled, I would go for the Vector ER rather than another 136" skid in the Rage. All reports on the new suspension have been very very positive so she is likely to have as nice as a ride as her current long track. Both have reverse so that is not a deal breaker. You are talking a $200 difference between the Vector ER and the Rage. The Rage has the "old" proaction suspension, but the Vector has the new suspension. Either way, you will be first across the lake (unless you are a total puss). Use the $800 snowcheck money towards a new suit for her since she will need new clothing to match the new sled (this is always important for members of the opposite sex).

I would probably opt for the Vector and use the $200 towards studding it for her safety since you live in Minnesota.

Sledder: When did you learn something about women?

When you come back to the states leave the better half with me and I will help you out.

I learned a lot of years ago that when you fit your wife with a sled, forget the money issue and get her what she needs period.

The 05 RX1 is perfect. Set the spring to light and let her play with the clicker.

After saying that I would go as fas as to buy my wife the RX1 with out her riding it for it is that good. :D :D

Read what Misfit and the guys had to say. Several guys had to ride it a second time just to see if they were dreaming.

Next year we will be riding with Kmer and maybe we can meet up with you and the better half.

Take Suisse Sledders advise/ he's on the money/Get her the ride and a matching outfit/ as far as which motor only you folks can determine if the 4 banger is too much power for her/ as a backup the 3 banger should do to trick/ We went to the show and my wife wants the RS Venture/ guess what she's getting/ If Mama ain't happy then ain't nobody happy/If I had to ride the Venture( as a backup) I'd live with it/later

I took my wife to the show in Saratoga, and she spent a lot of time looking the machines over. She has decided she HAS TO HAVE the Rage. We live on a lake, and do a lot of our riding on ungroomed surfaces. Most of our trail riding is on fast wide trails,( Quebec, Tug hill NY, etc. ) She doesn't like the way the 121" rear end is thrown around in fresh or loose snow, especially over 40 or 50 mph, nor does she like the way it bogs in the ungroomed. She loves to ride my Warrior, and I have trouble getting it back. She's read all the reviews, including Maximum Sled.com, and she's ready to place her order.
By the way, her present ride is an 01 Poo 500 classic. In the past week she has also tried an 04 Rev, an 04 Renegade, an 03 600XCSP and an 04 firecat. She says she will never ride a 121" again.

Blue Warrior....Sounds like a good decision. I really like my Warrior and it's 136" track. I'm considering an 05 and would love one of the new suspensions but, hate to give up that longer track.

Man!! these decisions can be hard!!!

Save your money and by her an 03 for 5K and put an M10, you'll be in it for 6500, and she will have a good back for after the ride.
