cameron,

I own a 07 Venture Lite.

I love the ride quality, fuel economy and range and the rear rack speaks for itself. Can carry loads of gear.
Best of all ... it's a 4 stroke Yamaha.

Ergonomics are spot on and it's easy to sit or stand over the stutter bumps on this sled.

Motorwise, this sled is solid. I can only remember reading of one or two motor issues related to the phazer on this site last season. Loads of low end torque, gets up to 50 mph very quickly and then settles in for a top end of around 80 to 85 mph.

Cold starting has been remedied for the 08 models. My 07 has never failed me in the cold, however it does take a few cranks. Currently I have it at the dealer for the cold starting update.

Slides wear fairly quickly, but you already having a Yammie, that is no surprise. Mine is also getting the track clipped every hole while I have it at the dealer, so hopefully it will help with the slide wear.

They are a little tippy, but proper suspension set up front and rear has improved this trait tremendously for me! It really rocks in the tight and twisty trails, and a hoot to ride ... really fun sled.

On the downside (and I'm sure every sled has a downside), the sled is very dirty in the deep powder. The snow just wants to funnell into the space behind the windshield, right at me, but I have always managed to get through it.
Sled is heavy when stuck (as most are). A shovel and winch are good to have on that rear rack if you're doing any off trail riding.
Tunnel builds up a lot of ice. Nice if you have somewhere to thaw it out every so often.
I have 3000 miles on my sled right now, and the front end is a little sloppy, as is the steering. The A-Arm and shock bushings have worn, and this is affecting the steering slop. I have ordered the bushings form the dealer and will make this fix soon. Not too expensive to remedy, but I am a little dissapointed in the quality of the bushings, and lack of grease zerks on the A-Arms.

So that's pretty much the low down from my side of things on the V Lite.

It's a great touring sled, and has Yamaha dependability, and quality built into it.

I rate it 8 out of 10 ski tips.

;)!
