Has anyone put knee pads on there viper? Either the Yamaha ones or aftermarket ones? Are they worth installing and how are they installed, never ran knee pads on my nytro put find when I rode my viper for the first time with the different seating position my knees were right in the plastic.

Don't waste your money on the Yamaha knee pads. Get the skinz

I put the Yamaha ones on both my vipers, unfortunately you have to drill holes in the panels but on the first sled I did I couldn't get the bottom rivet to catch from the life of me on both side of the sled. I ended up putting bolts through and it works fine. So on the second viper I decided to buy heavy duty velcro and put the knee pads on with that. I think it was a much better way to mount them without drilling holes and now I can adjust the knee pad to place it exactly where I want it.

Familyman had a set of skinz forsale on classified. He has em on his sled also.

I have a set of Yamaha ones I would practically give away.......

Yamaha ones lasted 20 miles they suck now the skinz are awesome

Has anyone used nachman spi knee pads? They seem similar to skinz

Put a set of YamaCat knee pads on my wife's last year, install was a learning process. Put them on mine this year.
When you are installing take a standard rivet and push it into the back of the knee pads to make a hole for the plastic rivet to enter.
If you don't do that you will go through all your plastic rivets call the knee pads a POS and go away mad.

Used the Yamaha ones since 14. The hardware was total junk, but used heavy duty Velcro and they worked great

Skinz and don't look back. Nachman (SPI) makes a living knocking off everyone else's designs using lower quality materials and mfg'ing in China. I don't care about the China part, I do care about being original. The only thing from SPI I would ever buy are their pistons since they actually innovated in that segment and they are good pistons for less money.
