Think this is the one I would get. My 09 Nytro RTX has always been a little harsh on the smaller to intermediate stuff. Almost went with the XTX when I bought it but feared it was too much track for it to handle well in the twisties, hindsight 20/20 think I would have been happier with the XTX. This seems to be a nice blend. Does cat have a 137" in their lineup?? The XF is a 141" I thought. Wonder how the LTX SE would handle in the twisties on a groomed trail or on the river vs the 129" and how they would compare in the rough. Might be a nice compromise. Pretty excited about this new model, love my buddies procross 800 and love my Nytro motor. Can't wait to ride one!!! http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/produ ... lery.aspx#

looks like all 3 of the track lenghts are Cat specs. No more 121", XTX is now 141" versus 144", LTX is 137" and shorty is 129".

What I liked was how the new Ripsaw II looked. It seems to have a more pliable rubber compound. They say it's 1.25" for lug height but it sure looks a bit taller like 1.375". To be honest I think it looks like a spinoff of the Cobra track. Hopefully so with less top end loss. The only thing that puzzles me is they call this a 2 ply track. Unless this is exclusive to Yamaha (and maybe it is), when you compare a 121" Ripsaw and a 121" Ripsaw II on tracksusa, the old Ripsaw weighs 37 lbs. while the new Ripsaw II version weighs 41 lbs. Why more weight?? I thought 2 ply tracks were supposed to be lighter.

The Yamaha spec sheets say it is a single ply track which is lighter than the 2 ply. I think the Doos use them. They also require a different stud too.

They are all fully clipped.

At the tech meeting the rep said they are all 2 ply tracks at this time, subject to change.

I kind of like the 2 ply, I've a lot of issues with single ply tracks. Hard to keep studs in them.

yamaha has a 1.5 inch ripsaw and the cat is 1.25
Nope, the Yamaha 129" and 137" sleds use the 1.25 Ripsaw 2 and the XTX uses the Cobra 1.6"

2014 SR Viper ltx se is:
Track / W X L X H 15 x 137 1.5 in (at least this is what is listed on Yamaha's website). Typo maybe?

Must be a typo, nothing at the show has 1.5" tracks, and nothing was said

I've got the Ice Attack XT track on my Apex which is actually a pre-studded version of the RipSaw II and I LOVE the track much better than the original ripsaw IMO...And I agree it looks much taller than 1.25"
