My Warrior has about 4000 miles, and has been great...But about 500 miles ago, we were riding a rough trail, and I noticed that my fuel guage was reading only 1 bar left, and the light came on. We had just gotten fuel, so I knew I was ok...And knowing I get about 100-120 before the light comes on, I just used the tripmeter as my fuel gauge.
I figured over the summer I would just replace the level sensor or float, and it should be good to go...
But on the last night of our last trip of the season, I looked down at the speedo because something caught my eye...While cruising down the trail at ~40 MPH, the speedo was all over the place...2mph, 33mph, 10 mph, 0 mph, etc. etc...
So I stopped and checked the sensor knowing if the bearing goes it sometimes takes out the sensor...But bearing was good (replaced and greased this year), and sensor was good with the exception of some grease on it...So I removed it and cleaned the grease...Still no good...
So now I wonder are the fuel level and speedo failures related?
Anyone else with similar experience? Kind of stinks I won't be able to do a full test until next season...
Thanks in advance..

Probably are related. Maybe check the wires running to the pod.

Check the wires under the toolbox. They are probably rubbing on the frame.

This may sound foolish, but I will offer it anyway. My insturment cluster was giving some odd readings last year. Lights were going on and off, numbers just didn't make sence. I found out very shortly there after that I forgot to tighten my battery cable when changing the oil. As a result, power was a bit intermittent. Could it be that your battery is just weak? Have you changed it yet?
