I am greasing my jackshaft bearing (03 RX), and I see that the factory used some sort of 'clear' grease (kind of looks like Vaseline). I was wondering if there is a special grease, of if any type of wheel bearing, or Lubriplate grease will be ok.
Thanks.

I use a good grease in my grease gun. If you find the grease kind of sandy use carb cleaner to flush out the bearing and if possible blow it dry. Otherwize let it air dry for awhile before adding new grease.

I have been doing this for years on the jack shaft and drive shaft bearings.

Be sure to check the drive shaft bearing as it requires more maintenance than the jack shaft bearing. I gease both bearings about every 2000 miles and at year end. ;)!

By the way I have never had a failure using this maintence procedure and I have more than 80000 miles of snowmobiling.
