I've been looking at handguards for my Warrior and I'm not sure what style is the best to go with. I've had a set of Powermadd handguards and mounts on my 02 Viper, but with the Yamaha cable e-brake it was hard to mount them. I had to do some mods to the mount so the e-brake cable was able to go through the mount. I've noticed though that a Rox mount will work with the Powermadd guard and with the curved shape I wonder if it'll clear the cables. I see pics with other RX's running Powermadd handguards so there is a mount that must work. The other option I've been thinking about is the Skinz handguard. They don't require a mount and they are soft so if I roll the sled over they wont break. Thanx for any advice.

I have the powermads on mine but they make an accessory for them called a handguard flare that makes them a lot more functional, as in blocking the wind. It goes out around the handguard itself.

As far as functionality goes, I would like to try the new powermadd SG1, they are soft but pretty big though. They may look a little funny but they look like they would stop a lot of wind....

I have used them all. My problem is my higher riserallowing the handguard to contact the windshield as I did with the powermadd. Had the flair kits on the Powermadd and the wife loves the skinz on her sled. They are easy to install and if they come into contact with the windshield, they flex. I now have the SG-1 and they offer much better protection and kept me warm last year. They also flex. The brake side is a little tricky to mount but it can be done. I even added the mirror kit to the handguards!

Well I'm glad you like the SG 1 since I ordered a set yesterday. They look like they will offer good wind protection and once I get them mounted the first time it should be quick and easy to take them on and off. Hopefully they wont hit my windshield, but it they do it wont be a big deal since their soft. Plus they wont break if I happen to roll the sled over. Thanx for the advice guys.

I have the skinz on mine. With my riser i am over the windshield and completely exposed and they work great!!! my hands are never cold and i can wear a light glove to give me more feel. They have some style too, they look alright.

I had a hard time deciding between the Skinz and the Powermadd SG1 and I decided to go with the SG1. They are similar in that they don't have solid mounting hardware. They both look bigger and look like they offer better wind protection than the smaller MX style hand guards. The SG1 look like a larger MX hand guard that mounts quickly and will flex if something hits it and not break. I think I would be happy with either the Skinz or the SG1 and couldn't go wrong either way.
