What is the horse power?

I have a buddy who has a 03 RX1 ER and I have a 04 Rx1 ER...he says the Horse Power is 176 HP. Can anyone tell me what the actual horse power is? I am thinking that is way to high I have looked at all of the spec sheets but it does not list it

Yamaha ever optimistic marketers never even boasted of those kinda numbers. I believe they claimed 150. I believe a good running, well broken in Genesis is pumping about 142-145

I failed to mention wher he got his info. He came up with 176 in comparison to the motor that he has in his 1000cc motorcycle. Although he was approximating the HP's he figured it was 176...I estimated at 146 HP but I am comfortable with 138-140HP. I just thought it was kinda strange that Yamamha does not specify it.

THe R1 motorcycle has 180 hp for 04'.. The rx-1 still only has a true 132-137hp... ON a real GOOD DYNO!! a crappy dyno may show 140-150hp..
