just wondering if everybody stays with yami oil or if amsoil or what??
my RX has some miles on it and i was just wondering what most of you guys use and weight???

I stick with OEM oil. Never had a problem.
I use the 5W-30 non-synthetic. These days you have to ask for it.
If you have an '05, then you are supposed to be using the OW-30 Synthetic. I suppose you could use it in the '04s too. Some folks do. The '03s have outdated rings. I would definitely use the 5W-30 non-synthetic in them.
Some guys are using other brands. I have seen posts re. Amsoil and Mobile 1 frequently.
I am sure others will pipe up here. Some do not like the cost of the OEM. Some are stuck on a particular brand and use it in every thing, etc.

The YAM 0W-30 is SEMI SYN...the 0W-40 is a FULL SYN...I've always used the 0W-30 without any issues.

Broke it in on Yami 5-30. After that 0-40 Amsoil. Over 11,000 miles no issues.

Amsoil in my '03 2000 miles and uses no oil.

Amsoil signature series 0w30 in both the 03 and 04, 03 burns very little, and the 04 burns none

i use yamalube full syntetic but will change this year due to the rip-off price yamaha sells it.

Canadian Tire cary MOBIL 1 0W-40 for around $13.00/L and FRAM oi filter PH6017A for $9.99...
Wile I have never seen it happen on these engines, I have seen vtwin yamaha's blow out the starter clutch(sprag clutch) wile running automotive synthetic oil. I'm going to stick with semi synthetic 0-30 yamalube....

in the owners manuel it says not to use energy conserving 2 type oil but any other oil is fine.

im thinking im gonna go with 0-40 yami oil and filter my sled has 8 k on it with no issues
I bought it with the miles never changed oil in a sled before just added it lol....
