I used to be big on here and love to ride....then I moved. Now I have an 05 RX1 sitting in a garage in Upstate NY with 1900 miles, a 5 yr warranty, a bunch of extras and no time to ride it. I called the local dealer in NY to trade it on a bike, and I actually thought he was very generous...but to trade it in, I have to finance the bike in full, then he pays off the sled, then I am all set. I talked to the bank and it seemed like a huge pain in the rump. If I sell it out right, I can pay off the loan (and a few bills), then I can haggle a better price on the bike without a trade (and the bank would be a little happier giving me the $$$). Bottom line, what's it worth? Here is what I got:
05 RX1 ER
YES warranty expires 3/10/10
Heavy spring (installed), standard spring with it
rear heat exchanger (not installed...thought it was a good idea but didnt need it)
windshield bag

Hell, I even have brand new coldwave riding gear if the size works for ya!

Thanks!

I forgot

I almost forgot...I have the setup from Bergstrom to keep it from darting. I was actually hoping to try out the new set up, but I am told it makes the sled ride like a totally diffrent machine.

Sounds like you owe money on it, and therefore paying interest. I would compare what you owe, with NADA values. Then check traderonline.com and see what the lowest price is. You should be able to ball-park it from there. Remember, that you are not only selling the sled, but you are also competing with other sellers, for buyers.

I competitively marketed my '04 on traderonline, and had it sold in a week, for more then I was offered here, and without any driving on my part.

Depending on what you owe, and if you are looking to put extra money in your pocket, you may be out of luck. That is the sad reality of snowmobiles in general.

Good luck

;)!

Thanks for the advice.... To be honest with everyone, I moved to Pa 2 summers ago with hopes of coming up on the weekends to ride. I had a good friend that I grew up with that I rode with. Over the summer, we had a falling out so riding with him is never going to happen again. Now I am promoted into management and have even less time than I had before. The stars are lining up against me on this one. I do have it financed but the rate is good so I will be OK....I know the reality of depreciation, and sleds are the worst! It isnt a money thing more than I cant stand the thought of owning a toy I cant play with. I am not looking to make a ton of money...it is a good sled, I am not looking to give it away either. My friend that is storing it for me is going to take pictures so I can market it. I will do the research you sugested and take it from there. Thanks!
