Has anyone heard when Yamaha will be officially releasing to the public the specifications for the 05 model year snowmobiles? It has to be getting close I'd think? Wasn't it something like January 14th last year? How about rumors, it's been awfully quiet on the speculation this time around. PB

Wasn't it like Feb 4th two yrs. ago when they announced the RX-1????

I think it was more like Jan 19, I know the RX-1 was at Eagle River, which is in January if I remember right. But, last year, they waited til March. Probably because they had nothing new to offer. Unless you consider the Venom new and exciting. Did they sell any of those? I don't really consider the Warrior new, just a RX-1 with a 7.5" longer skid, nice but not earth shaking. It is all about marketing. Look at Polaris, they are usually last. They rarely have anything new or old worth a sh*t anyway.

The dealer meeting is Feb. 6 if I remember correctly. 750 4-stoke with new rear skid to terrorize the ditches!!! Why does Yamaha still have there race trailer after years of no competion...... I don't know..... They wouldn't be building the most kick #*$&@ 4 stroke bump sled ever to race would they???

750 4 stroke, lightweight with a new skid??? :p 8) :p 8) :p 8)

I don't think they will be able to make enough sleds for the demand, I hope not cause I am going to cry and pout to my parents till I get one.

Make my RX-7 (750) a TURBO and we'll have a deal. I would think that at some point Yamaha will HAVE to address the entry level machines. Brand loyalty is defined a very young age.
How about a RX-1 looking kiddie sled?
A fourstroke 600 turbo for touring and fighting it out with the Cat 660 turbo?
Maybe a lightweight tow stroke direct injected 600cc fan cooled with power valves and exhaust gas sensor in the exhaust. This could be used in the mountains and flatland as a great starter sled.
Maybe a lightweight ditch banger with a 13.5" track and direct injected 800cc motor?

Oh............sorry I woke up  PB

Yamaha has a huge hole in the entry level market. It is beyond my understanding why they quit building the last generation Phazer :!:
That was a great sled for the money, the tooling was more than payed for. Why not keep building it untill a replacment was ready :?:

I agree. I (my wife) have/has a 99 Phazer 500 and absolutely LOVE that sled. I call it a "just drive it" sled. Because all you have to do is put gas and oil in it. In fact, I rode it for the most of one season after my MSRX was out of commision. I swear I had more fun that winter riding that sled than I did riding the big iron. Nobody expects anything from you, they aren't gunning for you and you can just relax and have fun. I rode in the mountains going cross country. All the short track sleds turned back but I decided to go with the long tracks guys. They just looked at me and shrugged. I still fondly remember the feeling of those guys saying "how in the hell did you get that sled up here?" It is so much lighter than the big stuff that it's more about ability than horse power. I almost bought a 2000 Phazer mountain lite instead of my RX-1 for that very reason.
My kids have a little 120cc sled. After looking at all of the 120cc sleds offered we ended up buying them a Polaris. Man I hated to do that but now the kids think "Polaris's Rule". I can't wait until they are old enough to buy a Ovation! PB
