Guys,

I am having trouble locating a place to get a stainless steel 5 bolt discharge flange and matching gasket for the unique pattern of a Garrett GT2860R-5 or 7 with the 0.64 turbine... need something thick enough that I can weld to, and doesn't need to be divorced. But stainless...

Been searching and researching on the web, just not getting anywhere fast. It isn't the same as the standard GT25 style... and am only finding universal flanges made of mild steel, that fit both.

I fabricated my last one but if I can buy one pre-fab'd then it will save me time!
This forum has always been a wealth of knowledge, so any help would be greatly appreciated. ;)!

Thanks
Mory

Turbo Time,

Yeah I came across that universal one, but it is mild steel. I need stainless so that I can weld to my stainless downpipe.

Thanks though!

mild steel is easily welded to stainless but if you are looking for full stainless for the corrosion and heat protection i dont know of anyone that has stainless flange maybe check with ted.

OK, I was told it needed to be stainless.

I had already checked Ted's website and found that universal flange as well.
Maybe mild steel will work?

How about a gasket?

I already have that gaskets that I used on my previous GT2560, that is the GT25 bolt pattern, different then what this 2860R has.

Thanks again.

AJ,
Don't think he has a stainless flange, the one on his website is mild steel but I emailed him to see if he has one that is not listed.

If I can atleast find a gasket, I'll make another flange as a last resort.

AJ, what 2860 are you running? The RS disco potato? Or a 2871?

the fancy disco ball turbo from powderlites with ported waste gate, I am thinking of switching to the 2871 next year but that may be pushing... I still have stock internals, no meth...And this year with the 3" exhaust the sled is acting completely different. I think I might have came onto a great set up..no lag at all, and when the boost comes in it is violent.

I got my flange and pipe and all from ted, can't remember if it was stainless or not, but I was able to tig weld it fine(I played tig, a friend of mine finished it)

What are you doing for exhaust?

I originally selected the "disco' RS but evidently it won't fit nicely in the available realestate of my FPP rear mount.

I think the 2871 has too much lag in a rear mount setup, so going with a 0.64 turbine housing. I won't be running that much boost to worry about excessive B/P... yet... This is, afterall, just a nice little family sled. :crap:

Using Justin's dual outlet stainless trail muffler, mounts right to the discharge flange. But that is the last of my worries right now, my baby is currently stripped down to barely the tunnel and front suspension.

I got the .64 housing. Quick spool up. I was think the 2871 would be good on a front mount set up. it is to close to the season to be ripped apart, get the bad boy back together.. stop messing around and do work son!!!

Still no luck procuring a gasket for this discharge flange bolt pattern.

WTF!
