i am riding a 03 shortie and i want to get rid of the bad push in the turns.ive done the longer links,striaght rate springs,5mm shims on the controll rods,woody's dually's,and pulled down on the limiter strapps several times.i dont think the new rear skid in the 05"s will fix this so i am going to keep mine at least another season.who makes the best ski to help this?how hard are they to install?and do they really make a big difference?aggresive trail riding is my style.

Different ski's absolutely make the biggest difference on these sleds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I personally ride SLP Powder Pro's which are perfect in deep and loose snow. On hard pack trails they are very aggresive though. I also tried C&A Pro's which are perfect on trail, but a little behind off trail. I got my cousin a brand new complete set of C&A's a month ago for $225 new including shipping!!! For that price it is hard to beat. PP's will set you back way over $300 even on sale.

I like the Powder Pros.
I believe that the precision skis from ski-doo are the best. Not cheap, but the sled responds well to them. $400.00 US retail, and they do have a kit for the RX1 now. #860508200 universal mount kit

Skidoo skis push too much for my tastes, I need to keep my corner speeds as high as I can. C&A's are the only ski I've ridden that work the way I require, add some Skisavers to any ski and it'll improve the carvation.
C&A just came out with some new models, as well as their tried and true units. Their widest ski is 7.25"...and designed for powder! Should carve wonderfully on the trail too.
These skis are fairly flat, so they will respond and feel differently than you're used to. They are not 'nervous' like rocker skis, and the sled goes exactly where you point it, no matter the speed. On corners that are banked with freshly ground snow, I point and shoot...
That being said, set up can be everything. Woody's dooly's tend to push (I've heard) when ridden hard...I can only recommend what works for me though...PM for details...

I put a set of C&A Pro's on my Warrior and it eliminated that push that i REALLY didn't like but are not the best ski for deep powder.
On my F7 i went with the SLP Powder Pro's which was better in the powder and aggresive on the trails. A MUST for Firecat owners.
Until this year i never used aftermarket ski's on any sled. After riding 800 miles with them they willo be my first add on even before i leave the dealer............

I have Simmons Flexi-Skis on my 03 shorty and like them a lot. I do not experience the push that others describe. You might also want to read the article at the link below.

A not too expensive option is to use Viper blades. Swaps over to RX-1 skis in minutes. Less keel underneath maintains way better control in deep snow. Deep keel in deep snow equals a handful. Another small benefit is the shallower keel drops your front end down a smidgen.(Where did I get that word from ?) Approx 3/4 to 1 inch.

I followed Vmax John's advice, and called Berstrom. I got 8"carbides, ski savers, and the shims for darting. About $85 delivered. I think they work real well.

C&A's are on ebay all the time. Best deal if you ask me. If you go for the dual design Matt at the Speedshop has Simmons for some pretty crazy prices. I know my 7" wide C&A's float darn well with the lil5. I know they'd be a huge improvement in powder over the stock skis...I consider them a great all around ski, but they excell on trails of any nature.
