What is everbody using for a boost gauge? What was your experience?
Mechanical or Electrical? Analog or digital? Memory recall? Vac/Boost or Boost only? Reliability? Accuracy? Readable at night?
I'm thinking a Stewart Warner competition or Autometer Ultra Lite 2 gauge because they have silver faces with black numbers that match my Apex display.

Boost Gauge
Awesome!
Awesome!
I just T'd into the existing nipple on the intercooler of my Apex Stage-I with an adaptor T (different size nipples for different size hoses)... It's located between the #2-#3 throttle bodies and is used for the Fuel Controller signal... If you T into the intake manifold ports you will get vacuum and boost (good place to get your BOV signal) but I'm not sure if that would damage a gauge that was designed for pressure only or not... My 0-15psi VDO gauge is pressure only and not intended for use where vacuum is present... If you T into the intake manifolds you should use a gauge that is boost/vacuum compatible... Note that when you are reading boost off the intercooler the only time you get a manifold pressure reading is on a sustained wide-open-throttle run... Anything less than a sustained wide-open-throttle run and the throttle plates are reducing the airflow into the engine and you will only be "seeing" the intercooler pressure and not manifold pressure.

Best place for accurate readings is behind carburetors/throttle bodies. but you need boost/vac gauges like I have.

- None, looking now!
I run a matching set of Autometer gages. ( Water, boost/vac, Air/fuel ) I've got the C2 set. Very nice set up. They light up with a blue background and an L.E.D. red pointer. Matches up with the stock gage pod very well.
All electrical. I ran the water gauge all season and worked perfect. Even took survived my wreck on the RTX.

Gauges
Cyberdyne e-mailed me to say that their gauges are not water resistant and not shock resistant. I too wanted the digital gauges for water and oil temperature readings. I went with Stewart Warner competition gauges instead.
