This may be a dumb question but here in my small town the race classes do not go my horsepower but displacement 380,440,500, 600,700,800,open. Last year they put the nytro in the open class i told them it was wrong but they would not change it. It was crazy a stock nytro in the open class with my supercharged attak plus a turbo just as well if they put the bravo in the 600 class. There are not many fx nytros around here but a town about 3 hours away from here they put the nytro in the 600 class seemed more right what do you think?

The FX Nytro is classed as a 600. I don't think that there are many 600's around that will touch a Nytro though, at least none that I have rode with. I would have to say in real world situations that they are more comparable to a 700.

I have raced with many 600's and most of them do take me on the start but the nytro has much more top end. this is on a MTX.

Take you on the start? a 600 isn't even in the same area code as my sled all the way to top. These sleds will run with 800s until a certain MPH

Yes they can on the start. I do have the track clipped down to 1.75'' also a sealevel kit which has higher gearing than stock not sure how much tho but with the length of the track longer than the others i would expect a bit better start but on top i pull them by about 10km+ on the gun in 1000'.

The mtx with the different gearing and totally different clutch components ( front and back) will not be as quick as the fx. Change the clutching with that track cut and turned around it will rip your arms off and kill the average 600

I would say that it can race the adverage 600 but there are a couple that can take me on the start. It can race a f7 never tryed the f8. There is only one f7 here and it can be raced by the new 600's. I'm not too worried about it tho maybe next year it'll get some boost but for now when i want to race i'll pull out the attak. I was just wondering what class the nytro is put in usually because its not right to line up with sleds running twice the horsepower thats crazy even 700 class would be alright.

I'm gonna have to make sure this year they get this right.. The ones that look after the races are all for skidoo and i bet if there was a 1200 skidoo there it would be in the 600 class. If the nytro is classed with the 600's i would guess that a stock apex would be classed with the 800's right? after all most of the 800's are running over 150hp.

or a Mach z in this case,This will give you a good idea on how these things run. The Nytro has exhaust and few other goodies and the Mach z has some clutching and a few other goodies as well

The Z was shifting real good for the first half then rapidly came off the powerband by halfway.

The Yamaha could use better clutching at the start - but then pulled well about the same time the Z fell off his power curve.

Still - they look very fast.

Yea,They said they are going to fine tune the clutching on the sled. From what I understand the Mach is a very good tuner!
