Why cr10ek?

I noticed that several guys on the site are using NGK cr10ek vs. Yamaha OEM recommended NGK cr9eb plugs.

What is the benefit of the cr10ek? Is there any risk with using an alternate plug? Why wouldn't Yamaha recommend the cr10ek if it is the optimal plug?

Allen Ulmer has seen some gains on the dyno with them. Your not going to see or feel a difference but if your changing plugs anyway its a nice option.
