I was talking to my buddy yesturday who works part time at a cat dealership...
He said at the radar runs the D@D sled was running about 4 mph slower than a stock one and 2tenths of a sencond quicker!!
He said the new dimond drive on the 900 screwed up the clutching on the sled making it not as fast as many of the other sleds..
But if you own one.. cat will be coming out with a Update/recall to replace the clutch weights... with ones that work..
He said the engine was overreving with the stock weights..

The big problem is the total lack of gearing for the DD system. The stock gearing is way off and no other gearing is available now which makes the 04 much slower than an 03.

Guys, there was a huge thread on another site in the Cat section about ZR900 owners and the DD system. Many ZR900 owners were saying the DD system was breaking at 1,200 miles. :shock:

Why The ZR900 Cat isn't That Fast
DD gearing is off and Clutched sleds still not as Quick as last year.
Buddy is a 10,000 mile rider/year and has turned his back to dealer and picked up a F-7
2000 mile trip in Quebec had 3 ZR900 cat,s. Of the three 2 DD drives failed.
There are no parts available---- There seems to be a reliability issue.
