Why would a Mega Float lose air? My buddy 2012 Apex SE shock lost all the air in it today. Cut our ride incredibly short. Was fine when we left the cabin but 20 miles of groomed trails later was flat. Look kind of funny with him sitting so low.
We tipped the sled on it's side and checked the valve and stuff and could not find anything wrong. Pumped it up and went back to the cabin and loaded it up on the trailer before it could go flat again.
5 hours later its still holding air pressure.

Why??

He run over a nail? Lol sorry couldn't help myself.... Unsure. Was cap on the Schafer valve? If not maybe some ice got in an let air out, an it came out when flipped on its side an re inflated

We run on nail free trails only. ;):D

Saw nothing out of the ordinary when we tipped it over. The valve was not frozen nor did it have ice under the cap.
As of the morning its still full. Strange

How old is the shock, has it had work done recently? When I converted my Floats to Evos, it came with a rebuild kit. It took almost a full season for the new seals to seat and stop leaking.
:sled1:

I have a fox vanilla float on my mountain bike, and every so often it will drop down to 100 psi for no apparent reason. (normally run at 200 psi) Might be find for a couple months, and then completely random. Never have been able to explain it.

Sled has 1500 miles on it. Has not been touched by anyone. He called his dealer and they are baffled as well. Said they never heard of a Fox Float that would hold air after completely leaking down.

Has he ridden it again?...Could be a leak the only shows up under the load of riding....just a thought

We de-iced the tunnel, track and spun the track in reverse when we left the cabin. All was good. Drove 25 miles and it was flat.
Pumped it up and drove back 25 miles and it was still full of air. 24 hours later its still full of air.
