I have a friend who thinks their will be much less trail traffic in Northern Mn ( all snowmobile destinations ) bcz he feels people will not want to spend the money on Gas.
I drive 230+ miles to the cabin and then usually put on 200 + on sat and 100+ on sunday and then drive home.
I do care what it costs BUT no way am I cutting down.
I wonder what you guys think?

mysely and a friend drive 4 -5 hrs almost every weekend during the winter. we drive from boston to millinocket maine. i know it is going to kill us in gas this winter but i honestly don't see it slowing us down. i have already started to try to save some extra money and put it aside and have been cutting back on everything in order to save money.
there are alternatives for most of us.
I know i dont have to drive 4-5 hours. i choose to . i could ride closer to home but i love millinocket so that is the choice i have made.
i honestly dont see people that love the sport quitting it because of this. but i can see people cutting back some. if you love what you do you will always find a way to do it.

i don`t have to trailer at all,i can basically leave my dooryard and go all over the province, gonna take more than rising fuel prices to stop me from sledding.

Trailering isnt really an issue for me but gas for 2 sleds is. Thats why Im glad Ive got a fuel efficient Yamaha 4 stroke coming. Sure beats the 10mpg REV I was riding. Ill cancel my cable TV and internet before I quit sledding due to gas prices. I can save another $20 a month by unplugging the beer fridge in the garage too.. LOL

It could prove to be a expensive year. I dont have to trailer. But I do have to drive 180 miles. It will make the middle of the week, 300 to 400 mile days a little priceier. What the hell, GIVE ER

I have a 310 mile drive to where I ride. I will still go, just not thrilled about the prices.

Heck, it's only money. Enjoy life! At my age, I only have 25-30 more really good winters ahead of me. If you look at that way. Costs are really meaningless for the hobby you love.

IF there was enough snow around were i live than i wouldnt have to trailer 8+hrs one way to somewhere i can ride...
Unfortunatly.. i think i will just suck it up and pay for the damn gas...

it will just feel like the old days, when my modified xc800 wouldnt go 90 miles on a tank.except i wont smell like a chain saw
