Windshield for a 2008 Yamaha Nytro RTX

I just recently bought a 2008 nytro rtx and it has the little basically 5 inch tall windshield and I do more trail riding than anything else. I noticed that yamaha made a 2008 fx nytro that was yellow that same year and it has a much taller windshield and I was curious if anyone knew how tall (in inches) that windshield is? I was also wondering if a 2009 factory yamaha nytro rtx se windshield would fit onto my sled. Do the holes line up or not? I'm curious about these two windshields because they look similar and I do not like the looks of the tall or medium windshield with side deflectors. Thanks for all the input anyone can give me!

Any windshield made for a Nytro will fit...the RTX SE is just painted blue...it's the same as the stock clear one..just blue.

do you have any idea where I could buy a stock 2009 se windshield online? Something that isnt more than $50 because I found a clear one for $30 but would like to have a blue one.

Put a post up in the " Wanted " forum looking for one or try ebay, kijiji, craigs list etc....i've seen them on this site from time to time. You can also have a clear one painted...you just paint the inside or the w/s...just another option.

Krylon fusion paint for plastic works well. and yes just paint the inside of the windshield.

What is the exact color of yamaha's blue? just so that the windshield matches the rest of the machine...

the winshield on my 09 se does not match the sled. The windshield is yamaha blue and the plastic has more purple in it.

yeah, none of it matches after a while. Especially the blue dumbo ears...that is just a pathetic job of matching up colors.

It sounded like in your first post you wanted a windshield for trail riding? The SE windshield is about the least protective windshield you can find for actually blocking the wind. You should be looking for a tall shield...I think they measure them at 16"? If you want to actually block any wind at all.

But if you want to look cool, yeah the little blue one looks pretty sweet.

I'm gonna have even more shades than that...after I smash into a few trees and roll it down a bunch of hills.

Duct tape grey, and gorilla tape black as well
