I've been looking at getting a different windsheild for my Nytro and I confused on the heights listed for the aftermarket windsheilds.

I was looking at the carbon fiber windsheild from Cobra. I looked at three different suppliers (Dennis Kirk, JR Graham, & Shadetree Powersports). All three list the same exact manufacturing part number, but they all list a different windsheild height.

Can someone explain the measurement for me? Or give me some kind of reference measurement in comparison to the stock windshield?

Look for a low, medium, or high designation. For the Nytro you will need the low or your guards will hit at full turn. I believe some Nytro guys have used the medium, and just let the guards rub a little, but the high is definately out of the question. A low carbon fiber screen would look sweet on your sled!!!

I have the next size up from the stock "windkini" (let's call it a mid), and the stock handguards don't make contact, even at full-lock. Gade, keep us posted on what you find.

Well I guess that's really the thing. The vendor sources all define the windsheild I'm looking at as "LOW", and they all denote the same manufacturer's part number. But each vendor gives a different measurement for the windsheidl height.

I really don't want to go any higher than the stock windsheild. That really doesn't bother me. It's the width that I would like to increase. The wind really gets around the sides, catches me in the thighs, and the "boys" can get a bit chilled.

gade- I just ordered my low ( 12.25 ) from port yamaha, it looks a bit wider at the sides. When I get it I'll put it on and I'll let you know. :4STroke:

I have that sheild on mine and it is wider than the stock one. Yamaha calls it a low sheild.

Rik- do you think it will offer more wind protection on the sides?
