Just wondering about windshields. I don't have one but was thinking about getting a blue chrome. I saw a picture of one and it looked different. I like the way the fx looks but don't want clear. Maybe it was the way it was mounted or would the fx type brackets work with Yami's chrome shields. Pics and ideas geatly appriciated.

Well i have 2 windshields the stock which covers the compter and a big one both clear but if u get a big one its easy to warp it i use the big one for riding the creek on long cold rides. But i rolled mine this year and warped if and bent the breackets and stuff. But next year i think im going with no windshield.

My windshield sits in storage, has never seen a flake of snow..
now if I were in some of those blustery cold regions, it'd be on.

I changed the windshield on my fx to a low blue chrome. You can not use the stock fx mount. Bought new mounts from Port Yamaha. I posted a picture over in the RS Nytro section on Power Madd Star Hand Guards. Hope this helps. Oh yea, I didn't like the way the windshield sat with the Yamaha mounts so I made my own. Yamaha mounts the windshield too far back and it looks dorky.

Handy...I see that yours looks better then the picture I saw. I didn't want to dorky as to offend someone. What/how did you do that?

I never liked the stock windshield or the ones Yamaha offered at all so I made my own out of a Cat flyscreen and it turned out nice, now its not going to keep you warm the the stockers do as its not a real wind blocker or nothing but it do send some of the cold air over your head, but its mainly for looks as most small windshields that are offered by dealers and aftermarket companies are. Here are some pics of it and there is atleast one more member(jafgree) that has one made similar aswell so what do yee think?First pic is the stock windshield.
Next two pics are before and after I cut it down.
Next are pics of when I first installed on the sled.
And the last few are as it is today on the sled.
Cheers Roger
