would you recomend buying one?
If i can swing the payments i was thinking of getting a phazer GT or FX.

my 08 phazer fx has been #*$&@, in the 5 days ive had it its spent half of those in the shop getting fixed and wont be done till next friday :o| maybe you'll have better luck. but i would likely not get another phazer

I'm not sure that is good advice from someone that only has 45 km's on their sled. :ORC

Yes, I think the Phazer is a fantastic and reliable sled for its target market. If you are looking for a fun sled that jumps well and spend most of your time riding under 80 mph, that would be the Phazer. If you want to be first across the lake or ride long wide open trails, the Phazer will probably disappoint you.

I've ridden with lots of guys on Phazers and everyone of them really enjoys their sleds.

Dont get me wrong the sled is an awesome sled. Just a little pissed of about not getting to use it. The sled jumps nice. handles the trails nice. it feels light, not that light when you get stuck tho. lol. Best handling sled in the bumps thats forsure.

My phazer gt is really nice with the big windshield for in the powder and against rhe wind. It really protects you. I ride in a town with only 2 phazers and whenever i ride by smeone their jaws drop. I would recomend getting a gt for the windshield and it has all the features of the fx. But if you are going to hit jumps and be really ruff with it get the fx. But if you are going on long rides and you still hit the bumps but not as hard i recomend the gt.

Phazer is alot of fun, if it is running. I have had 11 new Yamahas, and this Phazer has had more issues than all of the others combined.

I would buy a 2008 vector if i were you, I would not buy a Phazer again.
But it is alot of fun when it isnt broken.

2007 Phazer FX 1850 miles
10 trips to dealer for Waranty claims
1 trip for recalls

currently out of waranty period and sled it out of action with a bad starter.

The Phazer if fun, period! However, I am not sure that it is reliable. Mine is at the dealer with a broken rear link after only 400 miles. If you insist on a light 4 stroke, the Phazer is the sled. If you are satisfied with a 2 smoker, I would look at another brand.

What problems are you having with the 08? I am curious.

I know us 07 owners have had issues but I thought Yamaha Engineers have addressed most of those issues that we had and fixed them on the 08.

Not discounting the failures these other owners have encountered, but other than the minor BS (idlers/board icing/etc)...the 07 FX has been a real worker. Got around 1400 miles on it now, and I run it hard.

It's a blast if your riding it correctly. It requires alot of rider input, this is not one of those point and squeeze the trigger snowmobiles. That said, if you put in the effort the payout is freakin unbelievable...an 80 hp sled pulling the big bores down the twisties...

YES! I would buy again, never had a sled that was as much fun as this. I have a little over 1000 miles on mine and they have been free of any serious issues. I've experienced the same annoyences that everyone else has, in particular, the icing problem, but that's getting taken care of. It's in the shop right now getting the recalls and some updates done.

If your thinking you see a lot of problems with this sled, from the posts here, just remember, people are more inclined to post when there is a problem, not when everything is working correctly. For all of these that must have been made, the few that are having serious issues, and that have posted, seems to be the minority.

Lastly, your dealer can make or break your outlook of this sled, or any other sled. It seems to be that yamaha has and is working with a lot folks to keep us happy and it's usually up to the dealer to take the next step.

yes i would deffiantly buy a 2008 phazer rtx. i have 400 km's on my phazer and not a problem, these sleds are great on trails or when your making your own and it's good for jumping.overall best sled ive driving with 80hp.

Iv got 550 km on my 08 RTX . not a hitch and hopefully none to come . One problem i have is my buddy rear ended me the other day :o| broke the tail light cover and exhaust cover around 50$ to fix . I love the sled really good for zippin around and hitting drifts/ramps/whoops ect . I would say BUY IT AND LOVE IT !!!! :yam:
