Got the xtx all buttoned up ready to roll. Notice Yamaha now has bolt in tunnel protectors which are so easy to remove(cobra track)
Small additions are
lake effect 2.5" riser(throttle cable needed minor tweaking)
Billet overload adjuster for torsion springs
usi vx 301 skiis
cobra track(1900 miles of abuse off nytro xtx & still looks great!)

Hopefully get out for a small shake out cruise tomorrow!!!

Don,t bother clutching em till you have 1000 miles.
What would work now would not work when fully broken in.

I could not believe how fast; how hot the handwarmers got. At idle & 3/4 settings after 60 seconds they would burn your hands.

Turk, let us know what you think after you give it a shot. I need to know what you think of the power steering, ride and handling.

Our conditions right now are good snow but zero base & lakes/rivers not frozen well. I am going for a short rip tommorow but conditions won,t give a fair comparison.
I will then be away on biz for a week. Hopefully snow firms up & i can ge down to some serios tuning/tweaking/testing.
I will be riding/swapping sleds with 2 1200,s & 1 e-tech 800 bud who are dieing to try my xtx!

Looks good Turk! (looks very familiar too...)

So short rip tomorrow and then you're gone Sunday? You could always run it by the shop and I'll put a good dent in that first 1000K for you...!

Looking forward to hearing your feedback. Are you going to give the stock ski a test at some point?

Jimbo
I want to compare the stock skiis with/without the new funky snow trackers to the usi skiis over the winter. I want to be fair & test on good conditions.
Thanx again for that poweride demo day that got me into this predicament!!!

Sounds good. The 2011 ski is specific to the new Apex and is designed to work as part of a system with the EPS. Not saying you shouldn't experiment, but make sure you know what your baseline is too...

Good to know that the Power Tour played a role in your purchase. :flag:

Waiting on your ride report Turk! Give me all the details. Especially the ride handling and steering!

Ah.........just pull the trigger Mike!

LOL!

Oh I pulled it last week, but feeling uneasy knowing how much I love my XR1200.

Good to See Turk giving the XTX the thumbs up!

Thats great to see you back on a Yamaha. I truely believe Yamaha got this sled pretty good, but I am a little upset that you may have to go a little conservative on the stud length, but that seems to be the only issues so far.

I loved my 09 Nytro xtx. 1 ride & the divorce was pretty quick & painless. Might miss it in the big ditches tho!

Same as the old apex's. No difference in clearance.
