I have an 07 Attak GT that had stock skis and 6 inch carbides last year. It steered hard and darted a lot depending upon snow conditions.
The limiter strap is in the stock position and the transfer rod set in the middle. I am also not studded.
I installed Yamaha mountain skis with Woodys 4 inch duallys and it completely changed the sled and the price isn't bad.
I wanted a little more floatation in deeper snow and something good on the trails.
I just completed a 4 day saddle bag filming tour with Snowtrailstv on the trails in Sudbury Ontario area.
This package reduced steering effort tremendously and completely eliminated all darting.
I switched off sleds with my friends REV, Polaris, and Arctic Cat and everyone commented upon the ease of steering and non darting. All of their sleds steered harder and darted a lot more. I read a lot about putting pilot skis on Yamahas, but I wasn't impressed with the pilots on the REV.
There was a slight push in tight corners, but almost not noticeable.
I found that by getting into the corners deeper before letting off the gas would transfer weight to the front end and then it would steer around the corners like on rails.
Hope this helps.

To install mountain skis, I know the bolts are longer and the collar that fits over the bolt is longer, and then you add a spacer(collar) on each side of the column. But, are any adjustments necessary, shims, toein etc., ...or did you just bolt them on and good to go?

I made spacers to center the skis on the vertical spindles.
I bought the longer bolts and sleeves from Yamaha to bolt the skis to the spindles.
I towed the skis out .125.
Pretty easy installation.
