Hey Guys, I did some detailed searching and didnt find the answer to this question. I have zero miles on my leftover 2006 Apex. One of many waitinf for the freaking snow here in New England. Anyways, I have started it up a few times since curiosity got the best of me and of course I had to load it onto my new trailer. One of the times I started it, i revved it quickly and heard a bit of a pop, almost like a small backfire. It has started fine since, and seemd ok when i drove it up into the trailer.
Now that my first weekend of riding is coming closer I wonder if there is a chance i fouled a plug when it made that popping sound. It has started up fine since and seems to idle fine. Is there any easy way to see if it is running on 3 cylinders? Do the idle rpm's change? I just dont feel like opening this thing up to check and am hoping for a simple answer.
Thanks!!
Travis

Simple answer is ride it. A fouled plug does not stay fouled as long as it is firing if you make your engine work it will burn it off and clean itself.

Maybe you revved it before the light was off, allowing it to warm up enough first?

I get pops and backfires out of mine as well, but I have never fouled a plug. These sleds run very rich to begin with, and I've experienced a few small backfires here and there when I am loading it, moving it, or just starting it in the shop.
I have learned to just try to limit the ammount of short running times, adn even when loading it in a trailer, let it run for a minute before and after moving it to let it get warm. You may want to read up in some of the threads about airbox modifications ad well. Doing that will help to lean the mixture slightly from stock if done in moderation, and will help the sled all around.
