I am considering a 136 ZX2 skid for my 05 RX1 and have some questions for expert x owners as this new skid is said to an evolution of the expert x. I have never ridden an expert x. The only aftermarket suspension I have ridden/ installed was an M-10 and I didn't like the weight transfer.
Things I like about my Mono skid--- ability to soak up the stutter bumps, the small bumps up to 10 inches this skid makes dissapear.
Ease of adjustment
Weight transfer and ease of adjustment of transfer
Things I don't like about my mono skid---duribility--nuff said
Ability to eat hyfax--yes I have added wheels. This is not really an issue in good snow condition but the hyfax get hot quick in low snow which is surprising since it holds a lot of snow. Uneven hyfax wear across the rail is also conserning
The mono over large rollers and sharp bumps bottoms easliy. I know this can be tempered with a revalve but is that at a cost of small bump ability? I have heard different opinions on who to do the work and how much it costs. I don't weigh enuf for a bigger spring
I ride groomed trails-- no boondocking-- and want a trail suspesion. Is this what the expertx is? how does it hold up? ease of adjustment?
Do I try this new skid? do I put the money into the mono? My skid will need a complete overhaul before next season including bushings and shock rebuilds.
All opinions welcome
