The temp that day was 0c so I made sure that I removed the baffle on the inside of the hood for better air flow and my heated carbs were in the off position.
I have a 2014 VK Pro and was on the lake lots of snow and slush and had a sleigh hooked up full throttle and lost a bit of power. I let up a bit and fine went to full throttle again did same thing so I let up again and it went away. Went to full throttle again and the machine lost all power...
Sometimes it can loose its prime when sitting for a while, try taking the air filter off so you expose the crab intakes and put a drop of fuel down each cylinder then try and start. Good luck
Thanks for the comparison I've had my 2014 vk for two full seasons and I think it's a great sled, the only small issue I have is that Yamaha could widen the ski stance a little. I widened mine by putting the ski spacers on the inside of the ski and that may have given me an extra inch but...
hi dixpor I have a 2014 with the wider skies and they are great, they float the front end a lot better. as for the 1.5"track I have no experience with it but it sounds like it should work. I also ride in -35c I remember last year it was -38c one morning when I went fishing
Anyone change their own oil in 2013 or later VK Pro, is it easier than earlier modles, mine has an access hatch in the belly pan is that the way to do it? Thanks
My temps have been the same the vk will start at -30c unassisted (no heat) but hard on any 4 stroke. I plugged it in the other day at -35c and fired up no problem. When I start my machine I will start cranking then slowly rock the ckoke open until it catches then leave it till light goes off...
I have a 2014 and my inline heater is on the right side vertical line. Works great, this was installed by a yamaha dealer, it looks like it is half way.
I only have 400km on new set of sliders for my 2014 Pro, I could really smell them burning today (melting plastic). I got home and the left side was really warm, would melt snow like right now and the right side appeared normal. My track spins fine and true with it on the stand and the track...
my wife's 2011 VK540III will start and run but won't idle, I have to feather the throttle till it warms up then it is fine. Not sure but I am thinking of carb icing. Any thoughts???
I have a 2014 professional and my father in law just sold a 2005 pro, he gave me his spare belt part# 8GS-17641-00 same part# as my spare. Is this the right belt for my 2014? I thought they changed belt size in 2013 when they revamped the machine. I didn't check what is on my sled right now.
Hi guys just an update to this post from last season. I moved the spacers on my ski's, put the front suspension back to factory settings and softened the shock on my skid two notches. Made some improvement, not as tippy due to softening skid shock and ski's a little bit wider, we will see...
