There are a few LED hand guards floating around the forums, and they are all really cool. I even made my own version last year. But this year Cat came out with some really nice LED hand guards. I know Cat was going through a quality issue with these, but after almost 7 weeks I got them. I have to admit, these are really well made and quite a nice piece. Plug & play - very simple install.

I just had one of the Yamaha hand guards fall off on my last ride. I had no idea when it fell off so I never found it. I was just about to order new Yamaha replacements but these AC hand guards might be a better option. The mounts appear to be stronger than what I had but are the hand guards secured to the mounts any better? The small screws that secured mine kept coming loose until they finally fell out while riding.

They have two versions:
Un-lighted Version:
7369-388 black
7639-389 green
7639-390 orange
7639-391 white
Lighted Version:
7639-446 black
7639-447 greem
7639-448 orange
7639-449 white
If anyone buys the un-lighted version, you can go back later and buy the lighting kit for it.
They plug right into the accessory plug found by the reverse servo.

They use the accessory plug located near the reverse servo. I believe this plug is also used for the heated seat power.Where do they plug in too?

The black & white lighted version PN seem to be incorrect? They have two versions:
Un-lighted Version:
7369-388 black
7639-389 green
7639-390 orange
7639-391 white
Lighted Version:
7639-466 black
7639-447 greem
7639-448 orange
7639-499 white
If anyone buys the un-lighted version, you can go back later and buy the lighting kit for it.

I decided to go with the Powermadd Sentinel hand guards rather than the Cat version only because the Cat's don't come in red. The Powermadd mounting brackets are metal and the guards are bolted to the mounts so they are secure. These are definitely better quality and an upgrade from the Yamaha guards that kept coming loose and eventually fell off. I also purchased the LED kit which is an easy install but ran into a problem with one of the LEDs not working. The LED control module has two sets of output wires and one set is not working so the problem is in the module. I called Powermadd directly and they said they've had some issues with the LED kits and would send out a new module. Powermadd also wants the failed module back for evaluation in an effort to improve their product.

Same guards I have. Love them. Sturdy, bright enough to match the headlight, and a real eye catching clean look with the rox riser i have.

I know the Powermadd's come with an on/off Switch you can install if you want the option of being able to turn them off and on(the LED'S) when you want. Do the Cat ones have the same option/switch for the LED'S?? Or is it always on and thats it with the Cat ones?
