Clutching on the cheap

coil binding will not blew belt at 60mph.i always blew belt at that speed in hard accelerations after letting off throttle.I was told by yami service manager that I ride too agressive...:die:die:die
That's when I snapped my last 8jp. Crossed a road and then got on it and snap.

Too aggressive..... why would you buy the 180 hp "king" to poke around the trail with.

Yesterday I went out on the lake and really used up the sled. Big starts , slowing and nailing it etc. the 8dn looked fine , belt was cool but the secondary was hot enough I couldn't hold my hand on it for long.
Lots of belt dust.

The sled pulls really hard to 100 but I need a lot more lake to see more speed.

I was only blowing belts on the lake over 100mph.

If anyone had tried a new primary spring , to avoid the binding and braking of the stock one. Can you please post what spring you used and what other changes where needed. Plus results.

Thanks.

i put thunder kit in early on, no spring specs, no issues. clutches only warm. call lonn at thunder.

I got a TP kit too. Thought my primary bind issue was solved, but look at the following pic. Guess not.

Other than this, the rest seems ok.

Wow ya that's not good. Did you notice any rpm loss? What spring do you have in btw?
It's what comes in the Thunder Products kit. Much shorter than the stock primary spring. Rpms have to be pretty close. 8900 or so on initial squeeze. Does drop off a couple hundred on prolonged wot, though.
That's a lot worse then my stock one
My stock primary spring had some missing on every coil, but not that long of a gouge. Scratching my head.
