Yamaha went 4stroke yes but what's changed is the cat group I bet has been stressing the importance of a big 2s today's market.....plus it's common knowledge they(cat) need one..... Natural to assume they've been pushing yamaha for a stroker since early on in their marriage..... Remember too...

True story! As an owner of 2 Yamaha outboards, a WR250f it really came down to where there heart was so to speak when I bought the nytro new in 10...... Had to mod mod mod it to get it to what I really like but have been waiting for a true blue crossover replacement since...sorry vipers...
