I do have the same question though. It's a cast aluminum piece, why leave a gap for potential problems? Is it for weight savings, or to avoid patent infringment by Yamaha or Polaris, who have both released machines with truly tipped rails in the Japanese XTX models and polaris with the Assault?

I like the idea as well. I have loved tipped rails on my Apex XTX, it's no joke for sure.

I'm loving the old Catalyst patent filing drawings with a turbo triple squeezed into it. Those are popping up again this time of year as folks speculate about 2027 releases coming out next week. The apex engine would have been amazing, but the triple is more likely in that catalyst chassis.
