I think a clarification in terminology is needed here.
Dupont does not make sliders
Vespel is a patented brand of the insert material owned and made by Dupont. Manufacturers of sliders purchase the material for their MFG process. So anyone selling a slider with Vespel inserts is purchasing...
This engine will still be part of the engine supplier agreement in the NA form for the Wildcat XX. Which just so happens to be the same as the YXZ, so the engine will be produced plenty.
The Wildcat XX has been overdue for a revamp as well. Customers are begging for the 998T in that wildcat...
First and last ride of the season. Dropped at a friends shop to the SW of Paul Bunyan State Forest. Got in 44 miles before lunch at Spikes along HIghway 71.
That was as far West as I went. To the East the forest roads were amazing. Flat and fast! But there were enough gates closed that I could...
I wish I knew what the torque numbers were, but that is what we are getting with this bigger displacement. Those twin 1.8's in my boat are pushing a 4000lb boat/fuel/gear and 10 people up to 50mph. It would be a sick engine in a SXS for sure. Sort of like what Polaris has done with the 4...
I have two of the 180hp, 1.8ltr versions of this 1.9ltr motor. They are huge marine engines compared to our Apex'. It's a great upgrade in the lineup for sure.
We will see if Yamaha offers it in a supercharged version next fall, like they did with the 1.8.
I had no intentions of buying them, as I have spares of the actual duraflex that I spent good money on.
On that note, I have also lost the tips from the duraflex as well. Nothing assures them staying other than loctite, even on name brand scratchers.
Wow, nice design, and I just installed a new 1.6" Ice Cobra at the beginning of the "non season" But honestly, I like the deeper 1.6" lug and I cannot complain on how well it held up (11,000 miles)
All the years of the phazer never changed, so the process to maintain/service it have never changed.
The vector changed displacement, but the oil change procedure is the same for all of the three holers, it's just a matter of finding the filter location and it's access panel.
I noticed the Chinese have been reverse engineering everything. The nice Duraflex scratchers have been imitated now almost perfectly and sold on Amazon and Ebay. I suppose Temu as well. That is just a clearing house for all things reverse engineered. It blows me away how cheaply they can...
I did note the the JB weld High Heat is in that range. The JB weld Extreme heat is rated higher. And they mostly talk about exhaust systems for their purpose. Who knows.
I just used some of the JB weld Extreme Temp to try to set an O2 sensor in on my Polaris General. Maybe I didn't give it long enough to cure, but it blew out after a good heat up. I have seen videos of it working well though.
I may try it on my pipes in my 2012 XTX where the studs scratched...
