Where are you running on the asphalt? I’d love to come watch as I’m a new Winder owner and have been following your posts. And I’m only 70 miles from you, as the crow flies. Lol
Well that’s good to hear because I decided to tear her down. Lol
Replacing head gasket tonight and hopefully I’m running tomorrow. Any tips or tricks for the re-assembly? This is my first Apex.
So I filled at the radiator cap and bled my system. 1/4” in the bottom of overflow tank. Just went for a 50 mile ripper and I checked my coolant and the overflow was full and the tank where I added was empty. The hot light came in like 4 times but shut right off after I grabbed some powder. And...
I’m assuming it was off prior to me heading out. I did some testing on a bumpy lake before I headed out Thursday. Maybe it popped off then.
I rode 100 miles last week and did not have the coolant issue. I’m just not sure if there is another hose on the bottom of the motor in back that I can’t...
So I was riding yesterday up towards Copper Harbor and my sled kept losing coolant and the yellow dummy light would come on. Especially after a long, hard pull. I kept adding to finish the ride. Didn’t bring my Allen wrench to pop cowl off so I was holding it up and pouring it in tank through...
Very good. I had wondered if I would need to remove transfer rod. I believe I can get my hands on some type of compressor with out much difficulty. And if she don’t go back in, I’ll have it on a lift so I should have no problem pulling the skid. I’ve done it a dozen times on my SRX, so I’m sure...
So I’m headed to the U.P. On Wednesday and my new BOP big boy spring is arriving Monday night. I want to be able to swap springs on my ‘10 LTX as fast and painlessly as possible. Any tips for shock removal without dropping the skid? And how hard is the stock spring to remove?
Thanks and pray...
I’ve ran little bolts and nuts from the ones Hauck sells for adjustments and it’s worked well for me in the past. So I’ll break out the old scale and try to get a base line. Will I need a helix with less finish like a 37 or 39 to hold the belt as the weight are fairly aggressive. I ride mostly...
So I bought a set of Hauck drag weights from Don Pizor a few years ago. I would like to try them in my ‘10 Apex LTX. Has anyone ever used these?
I’m trying to figure out a base point to start at for the grams per weight. Here’s what I have on hand for tuning.
Stock primary spring Y-S-Y
G-G-G...
So I’ve got my Apex on the stand and when I start at idle and roll in to about 2500-3000 and punch it, it stumbles and then jumps up till I let off. I mean it almost backfires.
If I let off right at the stumble, it fall to an almost stall.
Any clue as to why this may be happening. I also...
So I put my Apex on the stand today and started her up. I noticed some straw and nesting type stuff shooting out of the exhaust at idle. Once warm I pinned it a few times and more stuff flew out. Kept at it until nothing came out. Anyone ever have this? Best way to keep them out?
I have a 2010 Apex LTX. It is my first one. I love it. Bought it with 8xxx miles. I’ve only put on a couple hundred miles. I’m still trying to address the push in the corner. I’m coming off an ‘01 SRX that would rail corners. Otherwise holy balls does it pull from 65mph-100mph!!!!!! And it’s...
Excellent insight that is very much appreciated. Thanks everyone. XTX seems to be the way to go. I mostly ride central Wisconsin with the occasional trip North.
I sure hope I’ll still be the first guy across the field!!! The SRX never let me down there. I’m sure I’ll still get the urge to rip...
