Years ago, I worked with an old racer who told me he machined his primary for overdrive himself.
I asked, "Oh...do you have a lathe?"
He says, "No....while the sled is idling I hold a flat file against the moveable sheave for several seconds, then the fixed sheave for several seconds. I hold...
On the lake last weekend there was a guy with a tuned Boost that pulled 137 GPS. A guy with a tuned 850 comp ran 140 mph GPS. He ran the tar outta that Doo with many pulls over a mile. I was quite impressed with the speed, but even more impressed it held together. A tuned 998 has to be on...
I remember having a phone conversation with Tim and seems to me it was 20 thou, but it's been so many years now I wouldn't gamble any money on it. I'm sure if you called and asked, they'd tell you.
Funny you mention.......
That thunder is so docile at low speeds, you can't tell it's even tuned. Like the old buck typing this post, the wife isn't getting any younger. She is content driving at 50 mph. After getting home from her first ride on the thunder, I asked how she liked it.
She...
I can't speak to Cryogenic Therapy? Last I heard, Walt Disney did that and he hasn't woken up yet!!
Wow.....the clutch in your pic sure is beautiful! A power hungry tuner like yourself should probably cut to the chase and get a TAPP?? If so, I'll buy that clutch in the pic!!
TF,
My other sled has closed loop and can add up to 125% or subtract 20%.
Yes, when setting the FPR, you aim for 100% and let the system add or pull % based on varying temperatures. I'm assuming it works the same for Hurricane Tuning.
I've had an O2 sensor let go, which puts the system in...
The primary is off a viper. I sent it to Thundershift Products and had Terry machine it for overdrive.
I've never met Terry or Tim and could not pick them out of a crowd of 3. I have nothing to gain or lose in what I'm about to say, but will be honest. The work Terry did in...
Great question......I'm gonna eat a lot of crap here for what I'm about to say....but here goes.
I don't own a dyno, and never put any of my sleds on a dyno. I realize people that have and/or venders that sell mufflers, attest that the bigger the exit, and the least restrictive the exhaust...
Sorry, my clutching will not work in a Hurricane sled. Different power delivery, which requires totally different setup. I do not have enough time with Hurricane tunes to share worthwhile advice. My apologies, I should have asked this first.
