Kinger, buying a complete 05-07 1000sdi motor that is new will cost as much as buying a RX1. And with all that money, it's another 2 stroke with the same reliability questions. To properly rebuild or replace a 1000sdi is expensive, much more so than your average 2 stroke.

Still looking for a RX1. There are a few for under $4200 and some closer to $3k.
There is a company that makes a 4 stroke swap kit for the RT chassis Mach Z, but it uses the Doo 12004tec. Would have to source a 1200 4tec engine & obviously make my knuckles bleed for the swap, all that work...
Someones idea of 'handling' is subjective. My feeling of handling is solid ski pressure, minimal darting and being well balanced. A tippy sled & high speeds = date with a tree where I ride.
I have a few lines on some RX1's for 3k even. The RX1 is the only Yamaha I have any basic knowledge...

I am definitely going to keep the 05 Mach Z. The sled suits my riding style perfectly. I just don't want to have to rely on it to carry me through an entire season with their cloudy reputations.
