    Sidewinder Year to Year Performance

Which is not a problem. I intentionally run different length studs on singles vs double backers, which I also run different sizes intentionally on also. Just saying.... It is good to trim the quiet lugs down so the stud bottoms on the shoulder where it supposed to tighten down on the backer for...

No, not going to work being an inch smaller.

    Sidewinder Year to Year Performance

I did not find any difference or increase in noise between the quiet lugs on the stock track or no quiet lugs on the aftermarket Rip2. I was really expecting it to be louder as my Doo's had very noisy tracks under them without the quiet lugs, but for whatever reason, I find the aftermarket track...

    Sidewinder Year to Year Performance

Thats what I'm running now is the 1.25" Rip2 aftermarket fully clipped and no quiet lugs. I find it to be the better track. The stock track does alot of stretching to settle in, the aftermarket does not. Not sure why that would be the case, just what I have found. I never had to tighten the...

If the shim was in place but not seated the valve clearance should have been tight.... And the only way to get the buckets out is to remove the cam. Real fun job as you are finding out. Typically it spits the shim right out. I had a shim spit once and got lucky the shim was there and one...

    Weight transfer with snow trackers

I can tell you this, I have been running Aggressive SnowTrackers since they came out on Doo skis, setting zero toe is easy and should be done. Cranking up the front arm spring is not needed when I run them on my Doo skis on the ProCross. I in fact go the other way, and loosen the front arm...

17-18 were the same, the change came in 2019. And the newer sleds slowed down from the 17's and 18 with that new clutching and reverse angle helix. It was supposed to limit belt blowing and belt heat.

Clutching. The 17 and 18s had the better stock clutching in them.

    TAPP Set up 998

Yes, they will need to be tested and proven for sure. I thought of that idea on hydraulic clutches 30+ years ago now for drag racing and brought it to Dick Schmidt who was our race director for MADRAG. He also worked for Rice Lake Machine and Design at the time.... As I recall, it was not...

    TAPP Set up 998

I had to clearance the width of my 23's secondary to install the Hi-Torque rollers. They would not go in and spin. I'm only guessing here that the dies or casting used in production of the clutches are getting worn perhaps, but the bottoms were tapered where the rollers would not go in properly...

Got a kick out this video...

Huh, I just clicked on it and it doesn't seem to be working anymore either. No Idea. Just click "watch on with on YouTube" and it works though.

No, I've never had to heat the cover to get them off on all that I have ever worked on.

All years and models make the same engine power and are capable of the same power tuned including the Cat versions.

Right. Pistons don’t get hurt from blowing a belt. The valves sure can though but typically it would spit a shim on the exhaust cam side if the valves hit. No two gauges will read the same. I had a snap on gauge that always read low like that, another gauge that read high. They will be...
