You can shut it off Bob, however with your sled that runs lean with all your power producers, I wouldn't do that. I suspect that because you are jacking up your fuel pressure that its running rich down low and when the closed loop is actually off-line and not adjusting at lower speeds. Mine does...
I'm pretty certain the owner of the Thundercat I had in here earlier this season was using Arctic Cat chain lube. Its the only machine I've ever noticed that had the magnets come out of the rubber plug and have had that plug turn hard like it did. I could have fixed the magnet pole positions...
The rubber plug that holds the magnets can get hard and brittle over time, it doesn't want to hold the magnets anymore also. I believe it depends on the chain case oil being used. I had a 21 Thundercat in this winter that the owner changed the track on himself. He noticed his speedo wasn't the...
Take the Frogskinz off here Jon and just use Cat screen from the hardware store glued in from behind. You will actually have airflow thru there. Would help immensely with reduced temps I would think.
Frogskinz absolutely kills the airflow. I've tested them in front of an enclosed 4" Spal fan and don't even bother adding venting anymore if you need them to use them in the front to keep snow or powder out, cause they don't let much in for air either. That said, I vented the rear of my clutch...
My hope would be they have a real tuner & proper engineer to develop the ignition and fuel systems. Cat really botched that on the Viper 1050 engine compared to the Yamaha engineers. That 1050 was rough around the edges for ECU parameters, running performance and super slow too. Wuffffffff...
Oh you know its coming! Just a matter of when. I'd wager 240 HP right outta the box knowing how Cat works. It will be their own engine. If it has EPS, I may just have to have one more new sled before I give it up, if the price is right of course.
I have no stiction in the 998 Procross whatsoever. It steers nice and easy as long as the EPS is active. I've had the EPS not fire up when starting in the cold though as have others. If that happens it steers like a bear on my sled. I did add a grease zerk to the pitman arm however and that...
Yep, I noticed that. So what's the problem? Doesn't need hyfax back there as the track doesn't touch the rails at all. Wheels are smaller to keep them from touching the tunnel on full suspension compression. When you pull the back of the track up like this it makes it very efficient and will be...
If you are going to run the clutch right off the 25 you'll want the 25's secondary setup in it. Otherwise just put your 17's weights into the 25 primary as long as they are still good and not wore out or shot.
There is a difference in clutch weight placement from the 17 to the 25 just so you know. The 25 has less tip weight in it compared the 17. They use a different secondary setup between the two years as well if you run stock stuff.
I like Shaper bars for loose snow, but they dart and steer hard on any other surface.
I don't bother going away from the trackers because the conditions change thru the days ride. I however use the stock skis and carbides, or a set of 6.9's and Slim Jims for low snow, crappy conditions or early...
Well it wouldn't be good in that it will wear the weight out if its not rolling. If the busing is actually toast, you could also swing the weight past the roller and blow the clutch up depending on the weights being used. Not a good scenario.
All is not lost however if the roller and bushing...
No, the corrector is the thin u-shaped steel surrounding the center host bar and carbide. It has to contact the snow to make them work well for anti-darting & easy steering.
I've run about every carbide and bar on the market, and there is nothing that I find as good as the Snowtrackers most of...
I run the Aggressive trackers on my single keel Doo 5.7 Race skis on my EPS sled also, not for the easy steering on there, but because they generally go where pointed and dont hunt and dart around. They also last forever. I typically replace the correctors at least once or twice on them. I have...
I'd not limit the suspension and hurt the ride. If its darting and wandering around it's because the correctors are not in contact with the ground. Make only one change at a time. Not sure what sled you are running, but I've found if tightening the limiter on a 137" slide action hurts the ride...
I don't know of any publicized changes either, but I cant argue with what I see in front of my eyes and witness first hand. I know on the 23 I have there is no way no how I could ever remove any material from the secondary for alignment or it would hit the frame at full shift using the TAPP. I...
Funny you mention that Rich, I have gone to a 35-39 Reverse angle helix on my 23 as the old progressive 41-37 setup I ran on my 17 didn’t work as well on the 23 with the same TAPP primary I ran. I know the centers are longer on the 23 as well and also needed more offset than my 17 did. I’d have...
