That would be great, but that ship has sailed and never to return again I’m afraid.
Yamaha made the offer to Textron years ago but they wanted a stupid amount of money.
Polaris is doing the same thing. Heard today they laid off 60 engineers! Right now the market is flooded with various machines and not many of any were used last year in the snow season. I know I didn’t turn a track.
As for arctic cat, it’s the dirt market as well. There a reason pricing is...
It does look good, but IMO it needs to "float" like the stock one does to absorb vibration or it will crack prematurely. Notice how the stock shield has the floating washers on it with "cushions"?
One thing I found out is that when it can't "float and absorb the vibration", is they crack &...
I put a TAPP on the Cat, not sure what secondary it had other than to say it had the stock secondary. I set the offset on every machine by lining it up at full shift with the belt that going to be used and adjust accordingly with a parallel bar and take measurements to get thing perfect at that...
Oh, it's defiantly more rattle than the stock one Troy. But works way better, noise be dammed. The TAPP is far quieter, but still has a bit of rattle up around the 4500 RPM range too. Quietest clutch's I've had on the 998 is the old Cat TEAM and the PB80, both of them were silent.
Looks like where you have it is great. I run mine shortened up to just below the running board with a nice 45 degree cut. Exhaust heat will keep things warmed up real nice but not too much. No oil gets on anything and I never had a freeze up doing it this way. Perfect spot for it.
Larger fuel pump should have nothing to do with reduced fuel mileage, unless it outflows the fuel regulator or return lines & elbows thus increasing the actual rail pressure.
Fully possible the bad oxygen sensor is the reason for the worsened fuel mileage. Data logs should show rich AF ratio...
I've put a bunch of TAPP primaries on different machines mine included. When new they are pretty nice and quiet, but they too will make some noise up around 4000-5000 RPM cruising along as they get more miles on them. They don't rattle at idle like the Yamaha primary does however. I have a few...
Give it a few miles, I'm sure the rattle comes back after a few hundred. I put it in mine too, even with the TAPP primary on it.
As has been said, the PB80 is quiet if it gets the best of ya and you cant take the rattling. Ear plugs fixe the rattle too....
Had luck?
IMO the lithiums are better than normal lead acid or AGM batteries. I run a NOCO lithium in my motorcycle and the Shorai in my Sidewinder without issues. They carry more voltage than standard batteries and seem to last twice as long or more IMO. You just have to make sure to get them...
I typically go one step colder with a CR9EK. I believe stock heat range is a 8. And I don’t tighten the stock gap on the EK dual electrode grounds either. Just run the gap as it is out of the box .024 as I recall. Even .025 is fine on the dual electrode. I’ve not seen any misfires with these...
I read in a magazine on the Lynx with that ski that its the same as another model of ski that Doo runs on their 50/50 sled whichever one that is, but not sure what model that would be. I know I had a buddy that ran them on his Doo with the SnoTrackers. They are single keel skis I know, made more...
Yes, I use them on newer shafts and they have proven to work great holding the bearing on the shaft after being run for thousands of miles. Had a couple machines thru here where guys have tried them on worn shafts and were a failure however and still spun and ruined the shaft and brake disc...
You must not have searched too far on here. Tons of Winders run Doo skis. Its one of the most popular skis to run on a Winder. I happen to run the single keel Doo 5.7 Race skis and use Aggressive SnowTrackers on them most of the time. Sometimes I'll run the 6.9's with various different carbides...
Regular old BOP driveshaft saver works great time after time as long as the shaft is not worn too bad. It works great on a new unworn shaft when tightened down and normalized properly. Not so good on a shaft thats worn too far.
Correct me if I'm wrong as I've never had a mountain "MTX" in the...
I align them perfectly by putting the clutches at full shift with the belt in place under tension and measuring the alignment at full shift. My 23 needed more offset than my 17 did. Don’t remember how much exactly but it was quite a bit more.
It all depends on the center to center, what...
