We checked the bearing it felt tight no play. There is a grove on the crank gear I am not sure if that is normal or not. Can you replace just the reducer bearing or do you have to repace the whole unit.
Need help have a 2006 apex that had a knock in engine with good compresion and oil. After I took it apart the only thing we could find was the crank sprocket looked burnt and seemed a little sloppy against the reducer gear. Any Ideas?
Had a knock in lower end with burnt smelling oil. When I pulled the engine apart everything looks good except the crank gear looked burnt and there seems to be slop between the crank gear and reducer gear and the crank gear has a notch in it does anybody know if this is normal.
The sled was running fine a fluids were checked 50 or so miles before sled shut down at around 50 mph. When we tried to restart we heard a rap and towed it back to garage. We checked the oil and it was black and smelt burnt ( oil and filter changed 400 miles a go). I would appreciate any ideas.
