Not sure what you mean by "drive his sled off trailer." If that means back it off the trailer, I suspect issue was with reverse mechanism in chain case. When a different belt was installed, that moved the jackshaft, top gear, chain, etc and the issue was resolved.
ALL new belts need break-in. Each manufacturer has their own recommended process but they're all similar. At least 2 complete heat cycles at no more than 3/4 throttle.
Ride sled long enough to get belt to normal operating temp (20 minutes min). Shut sled off and allow belt to completely...
FWIW - factory torque spec is only 18 ft lbs. I've seen many sleds through my garage with those bolts way over-tightened, sometimes enough to warp the flanges.
Factory spec says to first tighten to 9 ft lbs in criss-cross pattern, then tighten to 18 ft lbs.
Not sure what you mean by "corrections." To my knowledge, there have been no dimensional changes to shaft, only a change to make the shaft harder where the bearing race is. To me, that is not a permanent fix to the issue. The shaft still can spin inside bearing. It may not wear the shaft as...
FWIW - Allen & I did not see this issue with my aluminum spider ADAPT on his dyno.
Over 2 separate sessions about 3 months apart (approx 100+ pulls in total) it was very consistent on back-to-back pulls.
So, maybe it's something with steel spider that causes the problem? Or, maybe it was...
I agree. I've run both Rip2 quiet track, and Rip2 without quiet lugs and I didn't hear a difference. And, I agree that I think those quiet bumps cause problems with idler wheel rubber flying off.
My current favorite is 1.25" OG Rip1 fully clipped, no quiet bumps. Hellish traction...
I would say a big clue is the deto light coming on at wot. Something is not right.
Must check fuel pressure.
Does sled have fuel pump upgrade with return to basket?
Are injectors dirty/partially plugged?
Are all the hoses in front connected correctly and not blocked/linked?
Maybe you're not...
So, stock air box?
IMO, being a PEFI user (Stage 3, then 3R, then 4), 20 psi for Stage 3 is not right. That tune is about 17.
Cam timing ok?
How does it start? How does it idle?
Any chance you've got broken clutch parts?
Fuel pressure needs to be 43 koenr.
Gearing?
How long has this...
Just curious, your AFR is safe 11.8 but your fuel multiplier is 112.8
Just curious, on this log, your AFR is a safe 11.8 but your fuel multiplier is 112.8. Does that mean ECU is adding 12% to maintain target AFR? How much can it add? What is limit for multiplier? Or is there no limit?
Is...
I'm first in line, jk- lol. I contacted Hurricane 6-7 weeks ago after I found my first one.
Wonder HOW he's taking care of it??!! What is cure? Will new part be permanent solution? I hope we hear more.
Thanks for post.
Agree. It's not a big deal from $ standpoint. To me, it's just another "knock out kit."
It's the principle of the matter that bothers me. When a seller sells something that isn't what they claim it is, they should own it 100%. Reputation counts for everything.
