I have been struggling with the install of my vortec all season. very lean on transition from vac to boost. does spring setting adjust sensitivity ???
Afr of 17-18 at 0 boost :o|
Test run after work today, Afr's
Warm idle 11.5-12
0 boost 17-17.5
5 lb 12.5-13
10 lb 10.5-10.8
Still goes way lean and pops when backing out of throttle afr 18 and up . Adj fuel screws to 3 turns, one turn in on vortech. Silver springs, should I change to...
Installed 02 sensor, you were right, running lean. Moved float bowl sensing back to between compressor & vortech. Greatly improved drivability. still a bit lean with 130 mains,17.5 pilot,fs @1 3/4, needle rich on lowest clip
Afr @ Idle 14-14.8
Throttle 1/8-1/14 0 boost 17-18...
Still trying to sort out the surging problem. built a new charge tube with the vortech halfway between compressor and intercooler, welded the fitting for float bowls between vortech and intercooler conection. now idle is good but when throttle opens it falls flat and goes lean and will not build...
Belts are good also pulleys, 26 btm/24 top. If I hit throttle no surge, but if I back out slowly and hold anywhere from 3200 to 6500 surging starts. Could bypass opening and closing cause slides to fluctuate causing surging ?? Bypass is on left carb side of intercooler.
Have more info, might have to rule out electrical problem. Ran sled today, surging begins just after engagement (3200rpm) in vac and gets worse up to 6500 when @ 0 boost, after boost starts surging stops. This will not be trail friendly or when loading sled. Could the vortech be that sensitive...
Having trouble with 04 mpi stg 1 Rx1 mtn, engine surging bad at 4500 to 7000 rpm even when holding throttle steady. In boost sled pulls awsome. Just installed a vortech bypass to replace smaller hks, this problem showed up last year ,thought the vortech would be the cure . Now I think this could...
My Yamaha dealer in Peace River told me about them. I bought a 08 nitro susp. with a big wheel offset axle kit on snowest. Installed the 153 susp in my rx1 , rotated the axle forward to run the 151 track in the 153 susp. If I rotate it back I should be able to run a 156 ;)!
doo_man did you use stock holes or make new for the nytro skid, if yes where from stock are they ? looks like a s/c oil tank , how do you like the super ?? I'm having grief with throttle not going back to idle, (3rd cable ) goes to stutter mode or sticks open. :o| Also noticed @ 5lbs boost...
What track did you have on the Rx ? If you had a 151 on the Rx and 153 on the Nytro I can see why the skid was 2 " back. I was plannig to use the 151 with the Nytro skid.
Skyler could you post some pictures of the bov. I have a 1" outlet on my HJK bov mounted on clutch side of intercooler on blown 04 Rx1 mtn, the mileage really sucks, 5 - 7 mpg. Had s/c for 3 yrs now happy with 10lbs boost. Tried to get info from you guys during installation , no luck. also can...
I looked up my bill bought my Gen 1's from DCI sales in Magrath Ab terickson@dcisales.ca not from the dealer I menrioned on last reply, sorry for misinformation.
Running a Stg 1 with bov on a 04 rx1 mtn,10 # boost ,filter outside hood, made a 52 mi trip yest in 2 to 3 ft powder on pipelines and lake, had low fuel lite on at end of trip, more power more fuel $$$ :drink: :drink:
