I thought BB code worked on this site?
I agree I love my XTX too. 1.75" lugs helped it out in the deep stuff but I still got stuck 5 times today in NW Maine. 5 feet of snow is too much for her. Guess I should have gotten the MTX.
So pulling the tunnel protectors eliminates this problem? I just had a backcountry track installed on mine and the tunnel protectors taken out. Last time I rode my sled I had a ton of ice build up in the tunnel. Next ride I'll watch for it.
You kidding me? Try riding a Summit XP 800 or a Firecat 700. Those things vibrate so bad I wouldn't be surprised if the handlebars reached up and smacked you in the mouth lol.
Never ridden a smoother sled than the Nytro. Never.
Solution? Maybe the Harshness of the Nytro's front end...
Glad everything worked out fine for you. Just had the dealer install trail tank + Backcountry 1.75" track on my XTX. Went for a run around my field, never ratcheted even at WOT. Any ideas? Track doesn't seem CRAZY tight. No extroverts.
Hooks up like crazy in the 16 inches of snow we just got.
That sucks man, if this happens to me I'll be so pissed. I'm starting to worry about all these problems I'm hearing about. Wouldn't that make me look stupid after I told my dad about Yamaha having the most reliable sleds out there lol. Let alone having paid 10k for the damn thing
anyone got any clips of riding a turboed nytro with Ulmer's 180 kit? If not is anyone who has the kit intrested in making a short clip (on snow of course not in your garage).
Did you trim the front of your rails? From what I've read it is my understanding that most guys trim their rails at the front by 3/8" or so. Maybe that's why the front of your hyfax wore so quick????
Would this Timbersled rear suspension be good for trails or just mountains? All Floats and no springs in the skid. 30 pound savings? What?

Glad you're happy with your setup.
Oh holy sh*t 150 bucks. Guess I won't be doing that this year. Trail tank install + track install is probably going to be in the 5-600 dollar range since i've already bought the track (600). That and I've already bought slydogs for it too. So there's 1600 I'm going to have spent on an already...
I'm having my dealer change my track and install a trail tank in 10 days. While they are changing the track is it worth it to have them put on extro's too? How much are aftermarket extroverts? About 50-70 bucks?
Just wondering how much so I can figure out if I can afford to have them put it...
Re: track.
The XTX stock track is terrible in deep powder. 2 weeks ago I was riding on the border north of rangeley and it trenches almost as bad as a firecat. On January 5th I'm taking mine to my dealer (Woodies) to get the 1.75" Backcountry track put on. I had the same track on my 06 Rev...
Glad to hear they fixed it temporarily. Hopefully it holds up! Mine runs like a beast, still feels a bit soft on bottom end, but it's only got 95 miles!(Needs more break-in). Between 30-80mph it feels like my arms are being pulled from their sockets. Feels like it has twice the power in that...
I hear ya! Mines going to my dealer (Woodies) real soon to get my track changed to a 1.75" (ripsaw has no traction offtrail) and while it's there I'm getting a trail tank. 100 miles on a tank is pushing it close. Oh and my Slydogs are on their way. I'm broke AGAIN lol
