Not sure if your year Vector had this feature as I do know there were some sleds this does not work and the dash does not power up until the engine has started.
Hold down on the thumb warmer button, and turn the key. After ten seconds of holding the thumb warmer button down with the key in the...
It appears the OP wants to replace the gaskets (#17) and needs to separate the headers from the exhaust. What you stated above was also something I forgot to mention as wiggling and rotating certainly helped than just pulling straight backwards.
OMG, you were right again @74Nitro; those nuts are actually for the track deflection adjusters. :o|
Had the suspension out to have @cannondale27 service the EC Ohlins shock and also had to replace some idler wheel bearings and the hyfax and must have laid those nuts on top of the tunnel...
Goods news/bad news. Bad news first, it does not appear just torquing to 25ft/lbs is going to properly seat these joints as doing so does not expose the cotterpin hole. Now for the good news, thanks to the tip 74Nitro passed along, I was able to get the new joint out very easily without...
Generally, as long as you loosen the #20 bolts on the #18 clampls but leave the #5 bolts tight on the #3 clamps and leave both #15 bolts securing the headers tight, you can pull #21 apart from #13 & #14 by standing in front of the muffler exhaust outlets and pulling. Heat around the header...
Ok, I was totally envisioning something completely different. Thanks for the vid as I now understand what you meant; just never knew to do that but guarantee you I will next time. Thanks again, @74Nitro
Thanks, 74Nitro and Steve!
When I initially tried just inserting the joint and tigthening the nut, I didn't think the torque of 25ft/lbs was going to clear the cotterpin hole enough and hence why I thought they were to be pressed in or something. Although the service manual does not state...
Am in the process of replacing these two joints on the steering shaft. After loosening the nuts, they appeared to be pressed in and had to use a hammer to remove. When replacing them, what have others done to get the joints pressed back in? I don't think you can just use the nut to tighten and...
Just noticed what appears to be a matching Apex behind the one for sale but in Blue/While and an LTX; also has different exhaust. What ya do @steiner, purchase that one for yourself and selling your buddies other one? :dunno:
Good luck with the sale. Nice looking sled that would be fun to take...
Sorry Joe for the delayed response; saw your PM too.
I would not think putting on anti-seize on that drive gear would be an issue as its needs to be able to move to apply pressure to parking brake pads and it's not like having the anti-seize will allow it to back out due to the nut on the backside.
The lower set wasn't too bad to get to but you will need to loosen the EPS unit to replace the bushings. Considering the success I had with running the Oilite steering bushings on my other Apex and RX-1, I replaced the ones on my 18 with the them; yes, it's about to turn over 10k mi. I've...
