When I go over bumps, mostly larger bumps, there is a knocking in the skid somewhere. It sounds like it's coming from the front of the skid.
I noticed that when I get off of the sled and look at the limiter strap, it is completely slack. Would this cause the suspension to knock? Is the shock...
I forgot to mention, she won't ride her own sled. I've been trying to get her to for years. You're right, that would be the best option. . But she wont.
I have a 03 RX1 now. I ride solo and with the wife on the back, about 50/50. The wife doesn't like it, it's not comfortable for her. My options are:
1) Swap the Pro-Action skid for a Mono Skid. - Cheapest
2) Get a two-up (Venture) - Don't make EFI ventures till 2009? I cant afford that new...
My thoughts exactly. I would be suspicious if he wants to trade THAT sled for ANY other sled.
Read up on the common problems with the '03 RX-1 and check it over really well. eg. burning oil, jackshaft problems, etc.
Also make sure he has title in hand and the VIN matches.
The rain/drizzle will freeze on your visor if its cold enough. Ive had that problem a lot where I ride, I'm probably going to get a heated shield this season. IMO the heated shield is worth the hassle.
Just got an 03 RX-1 ER LE today. 2400mi $3k.
He said it had a bigger sway bar in it, but didn't know if it was one from an 04 or if it was a 12/13mm one. I'll see how it rides.
I'm thinkin bout gettin the straight rate springs on the front but I'll see how it rides before i do anything...
