    Aftermarket Exhaust Noise Levels

Supertrapp superlight stainless is nice and quiet with 4 disks. Saves alot of weight, and it you get one for a FZR600, it bolts right on with a nice stainless mid-pipe and T-bolt clamps. I am suprised the aftermarket companies aren't building Supertrapp systems, best of both worlds cause you...

How are your aftermarket exhausts holding up?

How did you re-pack yours? I guess you take it apart from the opposite end of the disks right ? I lost the instruction sheet that came with mine... I think when I ran it with open end cap for a while I lost all my packing... oops. These types of exhaust are BY FAR the best out there...

    Loose steering...

Well, I took pics, but they aren't really worth posting. I guess all the heim joints / bushings / ect have a tiny amount of play which all adds up. I have 1-1/2" pf play at the bar ends. My friends 05' rev has about 1/4"... it just feels soo much tighter. As far as making a durable...

    Loose steering...

Of course you notice it, LOL.... When you're going down the trail, the sled darts, you correct for it (take up the slop), then the skis wander wherever they want... whenever you correct, you take up all the slack and the the sled kicks the opposite way... Not as noticeable with stock skis...

My previous 93 Exciter II SX was at 14 000 miles and it was tighter than this '07.. :(

    Loose steering...

I will get good pics of everything on the weekend, and highlight the problem areas... there a 4 nuts that loosen, and there is one other rather large (24mm ? I think) that doesn't tighten all the way and causes yet more slack. As if it needs a shim in there. I will take everything apart and...

    Loose steering...

Next time it's all apart, I will use 2 nuts and interlock them, with red loctite.... This is kind of a big deal and I am surprised there aren't more posts about it. It's very dangerous... Mines an 07 and it was fine all last year, but this year, after the 1000 mile mark, wow, it's going...

    Loose steering...

What does Yam do for this recall ? I've red loctited everything, it's fine for 200 miles, then everything gets loose again, causing a VERY dangerous situation, specially with the new C&A skis, they bite hard at times... Do they use new nyloc nuts or something? I am not taking it to my...

    Right top a-arm.......bent!

They are VERY weak in the front end there. I wouldn't repair it, cause after another 500 miles of regular bumps, it will be bent again... I have see a few of these sled out on the trails, and haven't seen one that's 100% straight yet. Mine is WAY out, half an inch at least, I've never hit...

Yam - Low Snow wheel kit.

I wonder if they need to be that Yamaha part #... I see sets of 4 wheels going on e-bay from Poolaris's all the time for pretty cheap... Just a wheel and the mount... Maybe I will just buy them and try them out. Yam wants 125$ Cad for 2 wheels, I can get 4 off e-bay for 1/3 the price...

New to asphalt racing - 07 Phazer

Hi All, Just wanted to get into index racing the Phazer on asphalt. I figure it should be consistent, having only 80HP and EFI, and well, a built in radiator... I have already purchased a track 128"X10.? I have a rail ext. and 8" wheels our back. How many more wheels should I add to...

    darting fix

Strange, my sled does the opposite, I can't get a ski to lift in a corner to save my life. My front end just pushes, and doesn't want to turn... I have new C&A's on the way, so that might help. Also, my stock carbides with 1500 miles on them are just about done, so that's not helping much...

Anyone bent an A-arm? (warranty won't cover it)

Yup, same thing here, dealer didn't do NOTHING for me. 600 miles on the sled, no impact damage at all, but my dealer said "oh, you must have hit something"... Even though there is no impact damage, see pics here : http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=42062&highlight=

    EPI vs. Ulmer Clutching

Looks like the EPI would be a better kit if you have traction I am guessing... 6K engagement and stock junk Ripsaw FTL. :) I think of it as a high stall torque on a race car. It's only good if you have the traction....
