Does anyone use a good cleaner to remove the belt dust when cleaning the clutches. I am using fantastic and scotchbrite. Is there anything better...maybe aluminum wheel cleaner?
today I bought pilot 5.7s. excellent price at $304.00 CDN includes skags, hoops and all hardware and ski rubbers.
Rocker Dan- during your installation of the 6.9s, is there any reason you couldn't machine the spacers on the existing ski to obtain the 2 7/8" required?...instead of relocating the...
I want to bump up the rpm for snow drags. It seems very smooth engagement and powerful at low rpm, but looking for more...understanding there is a balance for RPM and hook up. I have a 1.75 back country to install, but right now I am enjoying the speed of the lower lugged track.
I have installed a clutch kit and I find the engagement low to my liking...2700 rpm. Just wondering what other clutch kit engagements are.
These turbos are lower than what I am accustomed to. What would be good or bad with a 4000 or 5000 engagement?
the 8dn , being a little longer, will not go down as far in the secondary? Is it safe to say an 8jp will contribute to coil bind more so than a 8DN? I guess it depends how far the 8dn goes up farther in the primary if it is even possible to coil bind.
I am done with the tuner skis. only complaint is they require way to much effort steering.
for those who have changed to the tuners, are you liking these skis and do they require less turning effort?
I would consider cat procross skis, (not sure of width or model number) or pilot 6.9 ( do you...

Well I made 350 miles on my first Yamaha. Then I noticed oil all over my new Klim bibs - inside right ankle. No codes no heat issues at this point. Decide to look inside right panel. ENGINE OIL all over inside /down OIL reservoir and chain case. Get pulled out...
biggest concerns are ..
-oil that leaked out... could have failed the engine
- fuel rail that blew fuel. significant safety hazard
-throttle that stuck... obvious safety concern.
yes the other issues are minor... but not what I expect from Yamaha. I have bought at least 10 new machines from...
First of all, I like my new LTX 137 SE. I have 350 kms on it with no issues other than the roller wear and heavy steering. This machine is fast and I have hit 187 kph on a semi hard packed trail on the lake which I am happy with so far.
What disturbs me is the issues other members are having...
yes, skis are straight and bars are turned slightly to the left. On other sleds, there is a linkage from the bell crank that can be adjusted. I don't see any adjustment on this unit other than on the tie rods to the skis...unless I am missing something?
Looks like my steering post is off like many others. What is the best way to adjust this? Is there a linkage to adjust the post, or do I adjust the linkage to the skis to center the post?
I wonder if you could stick a .001" feeler gage under the old button clutches. This gap may not be new, other than it is more apparent on the roller clutches?
Has anyone tried using only one wear bar on the tuner 3 skis. My sidewinder has way too much steering effort required on hard pack and I want to reduce this.
I have already loosened the front shocks, and I will increase spring pressure on the middle shock, but I am wondering if one wear bar is...
Drove 2 hours north to find snow and try out my ltx 137 se.
Rode around the lake which had 4 inches if snow...some of it packed by ice fishermen
Temp was very cold...-27 C.
The machine is bone stock other than a new 8DN
This machine is as advertised. It easily hit 160 kph, on the hard packed...
