Try and weld that case with the oil contamination and casting and it could put cracks through the hole case.
As said before it better be clean and someone better be good.
quite frankly for my riding area/ conditions I have yet to see the temp get that hot to engage the fan while trail riding. I have noticed that the temp would fluctuate a bit but I just chalked that up to ice or snow in the tunnel. Eventually it drops off and it steadies out again. I towed my...
I lowered my skid and added a set of sly dog powder hounds and got very light steering with some push.
I figured the powder hounds would be more aggressive and heavier to steer but it was actually easier.
I think the lowering of the skid did it!!
I like the idea of the deflector but just as you said I'd be afraid of beating it off.
We ride lots of old, stumpy cutovers and the don't call Newfoundland the "rock" for nothing.
There's usually lots of snow but the $1000 bill is always hid away just under the snow.
My xtx le is the same.
With lots of deep pow last year I was pretty frustrated with this.
Was thinking it was the snow on the louvres blocking everything up and chocking the engine.
This could be a problem as well but I think the main problem is the exhaust outlet.
If you do a powder turn on the...
Yup I agree.
My nytro went 15000 with the clutch sounding like that from the first ride till the last.
I never cleaned the clutch or had it off for the whole time I had the sled.
Not saying that there's no need of cleaning the clutch or maintenance but it is a testament to the reliability and...
Tried mine with the new spring around the yard.
I noticed the sled now pushes a bit while turning.
While I was at it I also added a set of sly dog powder hounds. I was thinking these would be more aggressive then the stock cat mtn skis and harder to turn. It's just the opposite....very light...
Ok thanks for the heads up.
Will try with the BOP spring first and if the rpms are ok I'll leave it. If not I'll put the stock back in and check that.
would the stiffer BOP spring effect the pull of the sled in a drastic way with the big venom kit.
the big venom kit with the stock spring will give you a lower and smoother engagement then the stock setup but from my experience the BOP spring with the big venom kit is even more smooth and less jerky.
As I said before we need snow to check it out for sure.
Just installed the BOP soft start spring with the big venom kit.
I now have buttery smooth engagement at 2700-2750. With the stock spring it was around 300-3100 and a little more jerky.
we need snow now for further testing on pull!!!!!!!!
15 xtxle.
Replaced the starter and everything else at 800kms.
2200 Kms since with fingers crossed every time I turn the key.
Starts like crap and idles like crap. Not all the time but nothing like the nytro.
Cold morning starts are better then during a ride. Never know what to expect when you...
Is this a common problem....really??
is this another issue with the viper to worry about?
I had a nytro and put 15,000 on it with nothing except a start relay.
That sled was on its side and roof lots with no oil leakage.
I will check it and thank all for the update and info but am concerned.
I agree.
My nytro would start if you even thought about turning the key.
Now with the viper I think hard on turning the key in fear of it not firing properly or blowing a starter.
I've heard of the other sleds loosing the starters occasionally and I mean very occasionally. When they did fail it...
