Thunder Products (Big Venom Viper kit) with Heavy Hitters

So now ur saying u need the BOP soft spring with the Big Venom kit to get low engagement ?? I thought with just the venom kit it engages at 27-28 , the more u read on here the more confusing it is lol
the big venom kit with the stock spring will give you a lower and smoother engagement then the stock setup but from my experience the BOP spring with the big venom kit is even more smooth and less jerky.
As I said before we need snow to check it out for sure.

Just keep in mind the BOP spring is stiffer than the stock spring (total force) and will probably require some tuning to get the rpms back in the right spot.

Ok thanks for the heads up.
Will try with the BOP spring first and if the rpms are ok I'll leave it. If not I'll put the stock back in and check that.
would the stiffer BOP spring effect the pull of the sled in a drastic way with the big venom kit.

It's going to effect the amount of weight you put in the weights. You might hit the rev limiter with that spring. To adjust you will have to add weight to bring your rpms down. I run a stiffer spring with my turbo but also run a different helix when I do. The idea with this kit was low smooth engagement and use as many stock parts as possible to keep cost down but have better performance and mileage. Clutching is always a compromise give and take so there are different things that can be done. It's just hard to test everything. Keep us posted and we will help you. We have no snow here but are going to Colorado, leaving Saturday for a week to ride. I'll try to check in when we have cell signal or if.

I thought nos pro said the kit brings engagement rpm down to 2600, still have my kit in the box, don't want to tune on the trail, waiting for snow around the house.
 
I ordered my kit off the website before talking to Lonn, just wondering if the preloaded weight's are setup for a stock viper,all I have is ulmers intake and can, guess I am kinda worried that I'll be hitting the rev limiter.

Thunder Products has a clutch kit now just for the Vipers! The kit is called the Big Venom Viper kit and uses the Heavy Hitter weights that have been around for years which I have used in the RX-1's, Apex and Nytro myself....now my Viper. Lot of testing went into this kit to improve the whole range of performance for the guy who wants good fuel mileage.... to the guy who wants to rail the trail...to the guy going off-trail thru the trees.

These Heavy Hitter weights are balanced out perfectly and the whole kit will come with Heavy Hitter weights with all the hardware for adjustments after more miles and break-in.... (if and when needed), Thunder Products glide washer kit to protect the primary clutch cover (keeps the primary spring from twisting and breaking) and a new secondary spring that not only eliminates the coil bind problem but also makes this kit have very low engagement, pull hard from bottom end to top end and the best part is getting much better fuel economy. Great video! Plan to install with 911 cover tomorrow. For the new secondary spring, which holes are best for trail riding? And are different holes better for more bottom end or off trail riding? Any info appreciated. Thanks
 
Run 6-1 for trail and 6-2 or 6-3 for off trail.

Ok thanks. So 6-2 or 6-3 is better on bottom end but loses some on top? What about for like 1/8 mile drags? Or does it not make a whole lot of difference?
