2009 yamaha nytro Mtx. Supercharged 5-7 lbs boost. That is what i'm presently running with a gems fuel controller. Everything seems to run fine with the occasional intermittent hard start when cold or warmed up. I suspect the fuel controller is causing this. I've been looking for a replacement...
Had it confirmed last night that it is the regulator. Hard to believe I lost the stater relay, starter and regulator at the same time parking it in my garage.
Thanks guys. I'm still working on it. Tested the stater and got 0.2 so that's a relief. Have a mechanic coming to have a look at it. Wiring gets beyond my abilities but when it is figured out I will post results.
No miracles here. Installed new switch with same result. I even started sled it in the dark hoping to see a spark somewhere where there shouldn't be. Still shuts down with started disengaged.
Checked battery voltage reading under load (cranking over engine) and its 10.8 volts
This 0 volt...
Lost the starter on my 2009 nytro mtx. Since I supercharged it back in 2012 I figured I'd just as well tear the sled apart and give everything a look over while I was at it. Now it will fire up but shut down as soon as I release the ignition/starter engagement. It will stay running if i keep the...
Update
Just spoke with MPI on the subject and thanks Kringer for your help on making them my first line of problem solveing.. the people at MPI very helpful and very quick on their response. Looks like I have a gems programmed for the apex. I bought this SC 180 boost system 2 years ago but...
Guess I should also mention this is an 09 nytro MTX. purchased SC system in 2010 and just got around to installing it. Nothing about the gems controller matches instructions from the initial boot up to operation mode. The instructions say while led's are flashing I am in boot mode? I always have...
I just finished installing the MPI sc 180 kit. Thought I had the hard part done. Now, I'm trying to check/imput settings on the gems controller and nothing seems to match as per instruction sheet. No solid leds after startup, or at any time. I imput a setting then recheck it and it has changed...
I keep checking back on this topic but never see any imput? I'm no expert on the topic but it seems to me this is the most neglected one! Should be as simple as a peddle bike with gearing. There is a huge difference with gearing depending on what your looking for. Power versus speed? A gear...
HMMM. If the 2010 bolts right in I'm confused? I should be able to buy fox floats for center and rear skid, drop down the back end and lower the front with the adjustments available to change the approach angle, achieve basically everything Yamaha has from 2009/2010 with half the cost? That as...
I've been searching for a gps system with satellite radio and the outcome has been limited. I found a bushnell that looked promising but has been discontinued and terrible reviews. Other than that there appears to be nothing for snowmobile? There is the garmin zumo 550 and 650 for motorcycle...

Thanks everyone. I'll go the individual guage route. Just to add I did not mean to knock the prologger, I'm just a little old school and still think fins on cars were great! 57 chevy is my idea of a beautiful car. If I could buy one new today I would!
Thanks Moto. I kind of felt it looked a little off kilter and could not imagine how I could mount that thing besides under the seat somewhere to hide it!
Any recommendations on a possibly more cosmetically appropiate gauges/braket or ideally a kit that covers all I would need?
Just arrived home today and opened the Box! :jump: Now I have to Install it. I have too much invested at this point to cheap out so I'm looking at the prologger. Sounds like it has everything I would need to go with the system? I appreciate all the imput and even additional questions as...
I have'n even opened the box yet! Won't be getting home until next week to start the install. I'll figure out what I have and any additional goodies I may want from Santa after that.
I would certainly like to see A lot more imput on this topic. From what I know and understand of the 4 stroke the powerband should be able to handle a wider variety of combinations as compared to a 2-stroke? I had a 81 pantera 5000 was down right scarey on the flat and hard it was that fast but...
Yes I figured 5-7lbs max but I'm going to try and keep it to 5lbs max for the first 10,000 km's to see how everything holds up. Since this is a yamaha I'm expecting to put 3000-5000km's per winter for 10 to 30 years+ on this engine then hand it down to my son. I've read a lot on the subject but...
I'm thinking 5lbs/180 HP max on 91 octane at sea level. That is just my understanding from days of reading on the subject. Engine Reliability is more important to me than the extra HP. I just want the extra HP there if and when needed.
Yes he is a great guy to deal with. I sent him a check and I received my supercharger from him last week. He did phone me to make sure it arrived ok which is a first from anyone I have ever dealt with. Told me to give him a call when I began installation If I needed to.
Definately a great...
