I have stock Apex. I have not had leaking problems but have notice the shock and spring are fading after about 2000 miles. I plan to go to heavy spring next year, but am concerned this might be harsh in terms of rebound. Should help the fading and bottoming though.
Apexs listed with buy-it now price on ebay for 7687. That delaer is way high for this time of year! Personally, I would go for lowest price and forget the 0%.
I have seen posts on here about hyfax replacement but can't recall them. Can you get the hyfax in and out on a ripsaw w/o cutting the track windows wider? I know it probably doesn't hurt anything, but I would rather not if I do not have to. Any other tips I should know about?
I think the reflective part can be argued as all colors reflect light to some degree. I think you could prabably successfully fight it on your first offense, but is it really worth it?
Does anyone know if the 3 year warranty yamaha is offering on 2007 models is a full 3 year warranty covering everything that is covered by the original warranty. Or is it a 1 yr full factory warranty with 2 years of additional YES protection. the extended warranty doesn't cover as much as the...
Was running my apex er today on a lake. Conditions were fairly good (hard ice with a light 1/4 inch granulated snow topping) except it was about 40F. Ran 3/4 mile and dream meter hit 119mph. RPM topped out at 10,500 and would not pull more. Seem like I read earlier they should gradually get up...
I went by it a year ago on the bullet train from Osaka to Tokyo. At 180mph you couldn't see much - just a plant with the famous Yamaha tuning fork symbol on it in the distance. As I recall it was about 2hrs north of Osaka or about 1 hr south of Tokyo. Many other Yamaha plants and offices...
Apex getting 14.5-15.5. Definately worse than last year's RX-1 which takes 1 gallon less every fill-up. I thought the fuel injection would improve fuel economy, but it is actually a little worse. I am not complaining though next to most 2 strokes, it is very good. Yamaha must have the fuel map a...
Mine too - 1000 miles and bottom rear spindle just squirts out the side. Also one on the front top spindle can't take any grease. Can't Yamaha get a simple thing like grease fitting right?
Was the improvement you got from the low shield on RTX and GT or from a regualr ER? I could understand the improvement relative to the low shield. Personally, I have the ER which comes with more or less the medium shield and to me it is still cold. The medium aftermarket shield is about 1 inch...
Does anyone know when the tall Apex windshield is going to be availble? Heard today Yamaha is not releasing them, because they bend down at high speeds. Supposedly dealer are getting bulletins on this - anybody heard if this is true? This warm weather can't last forever and I am not looking...
I made an adapter that fits right into the cigarette lighter plug. Bought the cigarette lighter plug from radio shack and convereted it to RCA cable jacks to match my shield. Have used this on several other sleds with no problems. I just think the fuse might be too small.
The 3A fuse that feeds the accessory plug on my Apex keeps blowing. I only use it to run a faceshield heater. Any harm in upping the fuse size to a 4 amp or 5 amp fuse. Don't know how much current the faceshield draws, but my guess is that it is more than the 35 to 40 watts the 4A fuse provides...
Ole Timer - This is not true on the main trails which are public roads. Perhaps in the hunting clubs, but not the majority of trails. We met two nice DEC officiers while riding and they said nothing, so don't exactly think it is illegal. There is enough room to be shared by both the hunters and...
After riding my stock Apex-ER today for 100 miles in mid 20's I have come to the conclusion it is too cold for me. I need to get something taller. I like the looks of the mid height windshields much better than the tall one and would prefer it if it would keep me warmer. Is the mid height...
Had a chance to take my first ride on my APEX ER today on Tug Hill. Rode about 110 miles. Trails were good in the morning, but deteriorating fast in the afternoon due to the fact there were alot of sledders riding and the 12-20 inches of lake effect snow was getting compact down fast.
The...
