Yeah. Bummer. My friend just ordered a Warrior, supposed to pick it up in a week or two, and I was so looking forward to comparing the new rear suspension to my 03's. Hmmm...Looks like I'll just have to get an 05 RX-1 myself and find out.
I don't know about that. I have the 03 R1 (Has the same motor as RX's), and it has never used a drop of oil. I also have a few friends with 02-03's, and they never mentioned using oil at all.
As someone else pointed out, it may have a little something to do with how much time is spent at...
That's great. Clinton was a fool.
Now...If there was just a way to snowmobile from Old Forge, NY to Wyoming, I might be able to check the park out. :(

I see. I didn't take that into consideration. I think I'll just leave it alone and not install the shut-off. I hear that freezing a carb is no fun.

I am from New Jersey - in the North East corner.
Like you said, maybe the second generation of the RX1 will have FI, maybe they'll even put in the new 180hp R1 motor! ;)!

I don't know. My R6 (It's a motorcycle - see avatar)also has heated carbs and you won't find me out there riding when temps are below freezing, that's what leads me to believe it's for consistent intake temps as well as preventing icing on the sleds. Maybe it's just to warm the fuel to a...
Depends how the carbs are jetted. Since the assumed conditions would be below freezing for the snowmobile, you would most likely get worse mileage in the summer (warmer) conditions than in the colder since the mixture would be slightly rich.
The heated carbs may be there for a reason to...
My SX has a 'switch' to heat the carbs. I only used it once or twice when it was -30 and when it was snowing REAL hard one time.
But I don't see any mention of the heated carbs in the manual? Someone else said they are electric heated, and on all the time?
Is there a secret carb switch...
When it comes time to put the sleds away for the spring/summer, do you guys prefer to fog down the motor and add the stabilizer to the fuel, or do you just start it up once a month and move things around a bit?
I have heard arguments for both sides, but I still can't decide which is better...
I don't have a turbo RX, but I do have a twin turbo Mustang.
I chose to use the 1300 high luster silver finish on my headers. Two things will happen over time - The finish will start to dull and look like it has a powder on it, and eventually (like in a year) it may flake off in certain...
I spoke with someone with a 2003 RX1 in black. He said the black ones were not available with reverse. Is this true? Any reason for that??
Can reverse be added to the black sled, or did it have other options that did not allow the use of rev.
Thanks,
MJB
